Hitachi Unveils 100GB Notebook Drives

Notebook storage has reached a new milestone, as Hitachi Global Storage Technologies unveiled 100GB, 2.5-inch hard drives Tuesday. The new models spin at 5400 RPM and utilize a Serial ATA interface, with relatively low power consumption. Hitachi said it plans to ship the 100GB drives before the end of the year, but has yet to detail pricing.
