Time Warner subsidiary GameTap is searching for people who love to play games to join its beta program. Sign up through this exclusive invitation before the spots fill up.
No matter whether you prefer action games such as Tomb Raider: Anniversary and Clive Barker's Jericho, adventures games such as Sam & Max: Season Two and Overlord, fighting games such as Street Fighter Alpha 3 and King of Fighters 2003, or puzzle games like Bust-A-Move and Columns, GameTap has them all playable for free.
GameTap frequently adds new features, new game platforms, and of course more games. In turn, the company needs more beta testers to help try out and evaluate its new offerings. If you're serious about games, willing to provide detailed, top-notch feedback, GameTap invites you to join.
In order to be eligible for the GameTap beta team, you must be within the GameTap Gold service area (USA and Canada) and must have either a Windows PC (2000, XP, Vista) or an Intel Mac to participate.
To apply, visit GameTap's beta site at beta.gametap.com and use the password: Isatabu. Please fill out GameTap's beta application with as much detail as possible.
Please note that not everyone who applies will be accepted and that your answers will be used to determine your qualifications for beta testing.
I am a beta tester for Gametap and I have to say it is one of the best beta test I have ever done. Not only is Gametap a great service for gamers, it is also a fun community to be a part of. Even if you don't join the beta, if you love games, go try Gametap. There is a game at Gametap for everyone.

I've been a beta tester for Gametap since July of 2006. I can say that it's well worth it. While a lot of the games are older, there are some that we got (for FREE) on release day, like Jerhico and Overlord. There is also a certain game coming out next month that we get to play before it goes public. I can't say more, so you'll have to sign up if you want to find out.

Theres a reason they got Jericho for free- IT SUCKS.

There's a free alternative call MAME, it's only been around ten years.

Agreed... although the emulator is free, the required ROMs are where it sorta meanders into a gray area. :)
I personally prefer MAME Plus! Any of them offers a very nice method of playing those old games, though. SFA 3 is one of my most played games. The QSound on most of the CPS-2 games is terrific on the surround system in my living room.
Speaking of Columns, I remember over 15 years ago playing that for hours until my eyes were crossed and blurry. Ever just been in 'the zone' and felt like you couldn't lose even if you tried deliberately? That was one seriously addictive Genesis game. I thought Tetris was bad at the time. :)

Oh hell yeah @ Columns!! The game was so bloody addictive my mom would kick *me* off the machine to play it...for hours on end!!

You're right. I gave up on Gametap a long time ago. If they started getting games for the Turbographx 16 or if they got more support for the Saturn (wheres NiGHTS?) Or more Dreamcast games then it might be worth it.

Wow... turn the way-back machine on. :)
I loved the PC Engine, and I remember numerous late nights playing NiGHTS.
Thanks for the trip down memory lane.
