i personally think its a great idea for a movie you get some idiots on here making a bad name for a movie which isn't even out yet ,basicly its a totally different genre of what game is and when it came out for the Xbox360 it took the world by storm and how effective the story is an how it was played out.

You look at the story and people think oh no.... well they should think oh yes cause this movie is going to be largely based on the story and not for how its good for a specific type of moviegoer this film will be a blockbuster it has plots not like resident evil which was a failure i think and you look at that and you look at Gears of War basicly it has the same type of charateristics for a movie but with Gears of War it will make Resident evil movies look like trash.

This film wll have gore this film will also be an epic style movie for those that love that type and for horror fans for example the charaters in the film have machineguns with chainsaws attached too them so i'll leave your imaginations run wild esspecially for the horror fans.

And TsThomas its 4 men in armor not 3.

Tsthomas if you don't know the game like i do then you should shut up and understand that they are keeping to the storyline of the game for the movie and if you haven't seen the game and its concept and its storyline and its plot "then you should shut up" heed the words because what you type is stupid and if you compare doom and gears of war then you are seriously a fool with doom its only got one good thing and that was its game the movie was rubbish because it tried to follow the game and its storyline which made people loose interest because they didn't understand the story and what it was about, with Gears of war there is more of a story than doom if you haven't checked up on gears of war then you should and you can look at it and see for yourself that the game is like a movie and that idea gave interest to new line cinema too take their ideas further, also with the failure of the last blade movie new line cinemas are probably eager to get this type of movie on the way and into production.

And people you can tell that TsThomas was born with one brain cell because the locust aint demons they are creatures which were the first race of reptillian humaniod creatures on the planet and that their war is too exterminate all human life and they are blood thirsty and have lived for thousands of years.

CoG's are the human resistance soldiers they have had too take people out of prison too pardon them and too recruit them into the resistance and they have defended the people of sera for many years but the defences are weaking and they need a weapon to destroy the locust army.

Also if anyone has a xbox360 you should buy Gears of War if you are interested in learning the story and explosive gameplay try it you will be left in awe.

And TsThomas if you call that a parody script,well i laugh at you because you only got one thing right locusts do come up holes but they come up unexpected.

Really? How do you know when it's not been released yet? I seem to recall Doom features several varieties of demons too yet the film featured... 2, 3? Sorry - my mistake - there were ZERO; in the film they weren't from hell therefore they could not be demons.

I thought Silent Hill was pretty good, and Resident Evil wasn't bad either, not that I have high expectations from video game movies anyway. However, I was really disappointed in BloodRayne and House of the Dead...damn Uwe Boll, damn him.

I think they'd be wise to wait and see what happens to the troubled HALO movie project before they start on a Gears Of War movie.

I think Gears of War would make a better movie than Halo though. Which is probably why this one is actually moving forward(unlike the Halo movie which is canceled atm).

Halo would probably be really expensive to make and after Doom3 they probably know it would flop anyway. I agree this would probably have a better chance.

Umm, why? Because they share the same genre? Being fans of both franchises, I can say that unlike Doom, Halo has a really good plot and has the makings for an epic movie if done correctly.
