Intuit Preparing Quicken Online

With QuickBooks having long been available as an online service, it was only a matter of time before Intuit launched a Web based version of its Quicken financial software for consumers. The online version is currently in closed beta testing, but will be expanded on September 10, the company said Tuesday.
Quicken Online largely offers the same user interface as the software, which already relies heavily on HTML. Intuit has seen big success with QuickBooks online, but it's not clear what advantages an online version of Quicken will bring to consumers, since they don't need multiple accounts or remote access like businesses might. Pricing for Quicken Online also has not been set, but more details are expected later this year.
Your Quicken Online would be useful to the average consumer if it performed some of the functions necessary to allow individuals to manage money between different accounts at different banks.
At the moment, I have 20 accounts I access online through 5 different financial institutions, and often am forced to handcarry cash or checks to arrange funds transfer. Although banks tend to be fair (not great) at managing money amongst their own accounts and subsidiary companies (i.e. CitiBank to CitiMortgage), credit unions, bank-to-bank interaction and retirement plans are often not included.
If your software will alow management and tracking of expenditures in my 4 checking, 6 savings, 2 mortgage, 2 retirement, 3 car loan, and 3 credit card accounts, it likely would be useful to me.

|I've used Quicken for years on Windows. I'm actually looking forward to an online version. If I can use it on a Mac I can probably dump my big ol' noisy Windows desktop!

|I said it before and I'll say it again. Intuit is unethical, unsophisticated and unable to help users. I would never use any product that they sell and if you are smart you won't either.

|I've used their products for years and have never had a single issue with them. Perhaps you can elaborate on your claims as it seems you are just spreading FUD

|I have a BoA account too, but unless I'm wrong, there's no free public Quicken-like web app is there? There needs to be a Google Labs version of this.

|I use Quicken while traveling. Many locations either have expensive, or no internet access, therefore, I must rely on a stand alone version of Quicken. Hope the online version is in addition to the stand alone version otherwise I will be looking for an alternative.

|Bank of America's "My Portfolio" comes free with my online banking account and does everything I need it to, including the oversight of multiple accounts from different banks. I haven't been able to find any validity to Quicken at all in years. I think Quicken would be wonderful if it was remade from scratch and they completely rethought how it could be used to better people's financial lives. A version of quicken based off their current software probably won't attract a very large audience as it won't pose any advantage over what's already available for less money.

|BoA's service is powered by Yodlee, which you can sign up for directly through yodlee.com for free. Other online finance services include mvelopes.com, wesabe.com, and geezeo.com (yes, I've been shopping around). These all import/aggregate transactions automatically (or mostly automatically) from your various accounts.
I still haven't found an online service that meets all my needs, though, so I'm very much looking forward to seeing Intuit's.
BTW, I also use a bill payment/aggregation service called Paytrust which is now owned by Intuit. For some reason they barely market this service but it has made my life *tons* easier.
