Mac OS X 10.4 Reaches Final Candidate

Confirming reports from last week, sources say Mac OS X 10.4, known as "Tiger," has reached final candidate stage. Developers who received the latest bits, build 8A425, say Tiger has dropped its "pre-release" tags and only two known issues remain, which pertain to nVidia graphics cards and the Japanese character set.

Final candidate means the build is under consideration for being declared gold, although its likely that more candidates will be released. Mac enthusiast site AppleInsider first reported on the final candidate and cited a report for rumor site Think Secret that said Mac OS X 10.4 may be announced as early as Friday.

For those of you who don't know, whether due to dogmatism or pure and simple lack of knowledge of the Mac....this is Apple's 4th version of OSX.

Those waiting for LongLongLongWaitHorn may want to consider OSX. Consider this: 0 Virii, 0 Spyware, 0 Malware, complete cross platform compatability with MS and even better - 0 crashes. It simply rocks for working, playing and developing.

Check it out....you won't be disappointed.

I've been a Windows guy for about 6 years. I founded a small computer repair company, and know my way around, and im back to Mac, why? because its simply better, everything about it

It can also be noted that $500 for a Mac Mini won't set you back all that much if you decide the Mac isn't for you. Just sell it on eBay.
