Netflix Drops Price of 2-DVD Plan

Faced with increasing competition from rental giant Blockbuster, Netflix is taking the expected step of lowering the price of its 2-at-a-time DVD rental plan by $1. The move follows a similar price drop earlier this month by Blockbuster for it's 3-DVD plan.
Netflix customers can now keep two DVDs at once for $13.99 per month. The company's 3-DVD plan remains $17.99 USD. These prices are the same as Blockbuster, although that company offers a $1 discount to those customers who only return their DVDs by mail.
It seems such a short time ago that Netflix was on top and everyone was pronouncing Blockbuster dead.

|I signed up with Blockbuster at first, but their selection, web site, and service was absolutely horrid, and I went to Netflix. I'm mostly happy with that choice, especially since I have no Blockbuster nearby to take advantage of any of the "offline" perks. Since they are doing better in the online sector, I have to assume they have made some big improvements.
I'm also happy the competition is resulting in a lower price...

|Netflix has the golden website, but blockbuster did it big when they added the extra in store rentals. that alone makes a big difference.
3 at a time = approximately 14-17 a month.
3 at a time with instore pickup of others = 24+ a month. if you get 14-17 from netflix, the penalize you for that and take away your new movies. I am enjoying blockbuster, and I have the 1 at a time plan. I get like 10-14 a month. Nice!
