No Cell Phone, Brain Cancer Link

By Ed Oswald | Published August 30, 2005, 5:07 PM

Scientists in London on Tuesday said that ten years of mobile phone use showed no link to brain cancer. However, they could not rule out the possibility of higher risk of cancer over longer periods of time. The study will be published in the British Journal of Cancer.

The researchers focused on tumors that grow in the nerve connecting the ear to the brain, called acoustic neuroma. Previous studies showed some adverse affects from the radiation emitted from cellular phones, but no direct link had been established between cell phone use and cancer.

Yeah, i still think research like this is funded by the people who want to preserve the status quo. People who use cell phones day in day out would be horrified if they knew they would get cancer from it, so studies like this make everyone all happy and safe feeling, where other studies will say different.

oh and the cell phone in the pocket thing, in your head you have a skull that can block some radiation, in you pocket there is no bone structure blocking any internal organs.

just a thought.

EDIT: They fixed the headline, so this isn't funny anymore.

I still will only be using my mobile for occasional calls and for short durations.
A Bluetooth Earpiece is probably a reasonably safe option, but you never have it switched on when someones rings, and it's not in your pocket when you want to make a call!

You morons, the the radiation emitted by cell phones have too large a wavelength to cause cancer. It is a scientific impossibility for them to screw up any DNA and cause cancer. You're paranoid and stupid, which is a really scary combination.
