Nokia Introduces 4GB Music Phone

iPod Mini, meet the Nokia N91. At a special event in Amsterdam Wednesday, Nokia rolled out a new line of multimedia mobile phones that bring together the latest technology with sleek styling. In particular, the N91 packs in a 4GB micro hard drive, USB 2.0, 3G network connectivity and stereo headphone jack.
Consumers more interested in photos than music can opt for the Nokia N90, which sports a 2-megapixel Carl Zeiss lens with VHS video capture support. The flip phone includes a "multi-hinge twist-and-shoot design" and integrated flash.
The third Nseries phone, the N70, brings Nokia's smallest form factor to 3G. The Series 60 phone features a 2-megapixel camera, HTML browser, music player and FM radio inside a brushed metal design.
"This next step in digital convergence brings together mobile devices, Internet content, still and video cameras, music, email and much more. Nokia Nseries devices share similar design traits as mobile phones, but they are actually powerful pocketable computers with a comprehensive set of multimedia features," said Anssi Vanjoki, Executive Vice President of Multimedia at Nokia.
Nokia hasn't discussed estimated pricing of the new phones, which will have a staggered rollout starting this spring. The N90 will be available in the second quarter, with the N70 following in the third quarter. Finally, the N91 music phone will ship before the end of the year.
the n91 is butt ugly. seriously yuk! the other two are really nice and I could see myself with the flip phone. But why oh why isnt the mp3 phone nicer looking, how can you compete with ipod with that ugmo.

|How can the N91 compete with the ipod? It doesn't. The ipod isn't a phone, it doesn't have wifi, bluetooth or radio.
They are basically different things in a different level. However, the N91 CAN steal business away from the ipod due to it's features although the price will be dearer.

|I love the features Nokia offers in their phones. I currently have a 6225. The only beef I have is the preference of a flip phone since most flip phones have larger screens, feel more conforming when held, and the screen is better protected.

|Well on the face of it you have to say wow. I'm sure the specs will be out of date one day (and not too far away either I'd imagine). But wow - what a spec for a phone. I'm not sure there's value in getting this instead of an MP3 player or instead of a digital camera. But nevertheless, it's quite impressive the way phones seem to be going. I wonder what they'll be like a year from now? [wonders]

|Well, I am in the market for a new cell phone, and for a new MP3 player. My old samsung phone is ~4yrs old, and well - I dont have an MP3 player, and been keeping an eye out on the mp3/cell phones comming out.
defiantly going to consider this one.
Much rather have my cellphone/mp3 be one device to reduce the ammount of bulk I carry around in my pockets.
on the other hand, I kinda want to buy something within the next month or two, and not wait till 'the end of the year' to get my hands on it.
