Nokia unveils another fashion phone

By Tim Conneally | Published January 23, 2008, 6:06 PM

Nokia officially announced today the new handset in its Prism line for the "design conscious" consumer, the 7900 Crystal Prism. Nokia 7900 Despite a decidedly corny name and somewhat inutile keypad layout, the Crystal Prism is a unique device with customizable backlighting in 49 different colors. Graphic artist Frederique Dubal who has worked extensively on graphic and textile design on campaigns with Nike in the Netherlands, Sony's Playstation in France, and Paul Smith in the UK, collaborated with Nokia on the laser-etched graphic designs and exclusive wallpapers available for the handset. Nokia 7900 With a 2 megapixel camera, built in MP3 player, EGPRS/GPRS web browsing, and 1 GB of internal memory, this 3G quadband GSM phone is expected to be available in the first quarter of 2008. It will carry with it an estimated retail price of €375 before taxes and subsidies. Nokia 7900

I really like Nokia... But this phone just plainly sucks. I would not put a finger on it that in my life, and for what it cost not in my next life either.

Maybe I'm reading this wrong, but according to the last paragraph in the article this is a 3G quadband phone yet it only supports GPRS and EDGE web browsing? Very strange. If this is true it's not a 3G phone at all. All 3G phones support 1.8Mbps or faster internet download speeds depending on the chipset used. There's no such thing as a 3G mobile phone technology that has internet download speeds slower than 1.8Mbps.

The phone looks great I would consider getting it, but like most things us here in the states will be the last to get it. I would love to see a PDA version of this phone.

I agree with dvferret that guys website looks like someone that has no clue about HTML made it. I hope he didn't pay much to get it made, I could make that page the way it is in a hour.
Frederique Dubal if you want a real website give me a buzz. lol I would be embarsed to have that website.

It's not the actual html that's bad it's the css. As for the web site, it's a designer web site, it's not your traditional web site. it's mean to be more like abstract art then professional business website. But agree'd it is messy looking in general.

I dunno, the HTML's not all that great.
