Opera Software Refreshes Web Browser

Opera Software today unveiled version 6.0 of its Opera Web browser for Windows, completely revamped from previous releases. Listening to feedback from its users, Opera 6.0 includes a customizable user interface and support for tabbed single window browsing - a shift from Opera's trademark multiple document interface. This latest update also includes a fix for the browser's first security snafu since 1996, a JavaScript bug discovered in the 6.0 beta version released earlier this month.
Opera 6.0 increases speed over its predecessors, targeting image rendering and general Web page display. The main toolbar has also been redesigned with a modern look, following the path of recent Netscape releases. A slew of new features have been added, including sidebar panels akin to Netscape, hotclicks for quick searching and translations, a customizable personal bar, greatly improved bookmarks, and support for the Unicode Worldwide Character Set.
Current Opera 5.x users may upgrade to version 6.0 for free. For more information on Opera, visit Opera Software or download Opera 6.0 with Java or without Java from FileForum.
I used version 5 pretty consistently... version 6 is great!
So far I've only seen glitches in ezBoard replies, and can't get ICQ Lite to work through it. But they're no big deals :) For everything else, it's excellent!
Oh, one drawback, I'm used to the excellent cookie management in IE6. Any recommendations for another "intelligent" cookie manager?

|I've been an Opera user since version 4 and am absolutely amazed at the quality of this new version.
Instead of adding feature after feature and thereby making it slower and larger, the Opera development team has been able to make it faster than it ever was while perfecting the things that make Opera what it is: The best Browser in existence.
Microsoft & Netscape: Take a close look at this masterpiece of software development. You might just learn something.

|Wow, I must admit I think Opera as a browser is incredable.. however a few things I still have to default to MSIE .. simply because the Opera sometimes does not disply things acurratly.. but the fact that a user can swtich between all types of moziala to IE 5 ect.. is great.. keep up the good work guys.

|Actually, Opera in most cases show everything currectly, when it doesn't show currectly, it's most prolly because that specific site would not follow the standards, Opera does.
Most problems that you'll encounter when using Opera would be the end user problem(well, the site developer) rather than Opera's fault. ;)

|hmm, not really..you can say that for mozilla based browsers but not for opera - it is realy not known as the worlds most standard compliant browser
