PayPal to Give Buyers $20 Rebate

In an effort to convince consumers to pay via its service, PayPal is planning a massive promotion in which it will give $100 million back to users. Those who buy from a list of merchants that have joined the holiday program will be eligible to receive up to $20 off their purchase.
The promotion will run from November 23 to May 15, 2007. In addition to rebates, customers can receive coupons and free shipping. On the list of those merchants taking part are Dell, Barnes and Noble, Starbucks, PetSmart, and Hewlett-Packard. PayPal parent company eBay says the promotion could involve up to 100,000 merchants that use the service.
The fact remains that Paypal has not yet implemented wire transfer to most of the countries. For example, it shows absolute ineptitude on the part of Paypal not to provide the facility for transfer of payments to India. There are thousands of software firms in India which could have used Paypal to accept payments from clients. The number of users online is exploding in India and Paypal has already lost billions of dollars in potential business. I am sure this helps Google! www.exclventures.com

|How about PayPal issue a rebate to merchants using PayPal? The percent they collect for completing a transaction is growing higher and cutting further into the bottom line of businesses.

|im always pissed with paypal cronies. its because people are too lazy to fill out a money order that i have have to provide a paypal account and lose a good deal of money on sales.. and what happend on one of my latest sales was ridiculous. there was a problem with an item i sold, so the buyer opend a dispute with paypal, paypal took out hundreds from my account that i recieve from the sale and feed it. then when when i provided a refund i had to compensate for the fee so i lost about $20 from that.
couple years ago someone used a stoled credit card. not only did i have my merchandise stolen but they charged me for fruad fees.. and this was because i left my paypal settings as default, i actually had to go and deny unverified users
i use paypal as little as possible

|To be perfectly honest, I have had PayPal for years and have never had an issue. Of course I'm smart enough to transfer funds as soon as they go into my account.
Anyone who leaves a lot of money in their PayPal account is just asking for trouble. If you have bank account attached, there is never a reason to leave your money in PayPal's hands.
I opened an account just for PayPal so my savings and checking can't be screwed around with. I know you can't actually speak with anybody and there is no actual number you can call, which is retarded but I still can't complain about anything but their greed, but I still use them so it's my fault.

|PayPal is awful. Instead of spending money to make us spend money, they should put money where their mouth is! Why don't they spend money upgrading their terrible customer (dis)service, allowing us to have control over what they store and actually listening to user's complaints. Hey, while we are it, give us control, period!
I have been fighting 3 years with them to completely remove all my information from their servers, which they swore they did, but of course never did.
In the end, I changed credit cards, NEVER use them, and voice my opinion about this company that clearly does not care about clients.
They are awful. Paypal, not thank you, without my money...

I hate people like you. I used to work at circuit city, and every now and then, someone would flip out because their 5 year old address or phone number was found to be stored in the system. They'd make a big fuss demanding that it be removed. Yet, there was nothing that could be done. You think amazon will ever delete your personal information? Newegg? Verizon? Get a clue. When you give someone information, they keep it forever.

Don't buy anything online if you don't want your info to be saved. If you want to buy, go to local retail stores and pay cash.

|Not only that, but the local pizza delivery service? When you call and your number pops up on caller ID, guess what.. So does your address or the address that was serviced via that telephone number.

|PayPal is crap.
Tips
1. Pay your Fund via Credit Card, not your bank account. Forget about Sweepstakes. It's harder to win than Lottery.
2. Turn off Pre-Approved Payment because you will lose money automatically by some merchants without your consent. And if you file Dispute you will lose.
3. Do not use PayPal.

|Black-Wolf,
You can not send PayPal down the river for one bad incident that happened to you. I filed a dispute and won. I had paid 110 for a gadget, never received the item, I filed and won the dispute in less than a month after filing. I was refunded 85 from PayPals pockets because they could not collect my money from the seller and the dispute is still open for the remaining funds. I feel safer working with PayPal than typing out my Credit Card information over and over again.

|We'll, how about they give me access to my account. They "Limited" me on Friday (November 2nd) for apparently breaking a policy. I have tried to contact them without a response.
They also claim that until they feel it is resolved, they can / will hold onto my money (Without my being able to access it) for up to 180 days.
That is BULLSH1T!
I still have no clue what rule I broke!
I do a lot of “Quasi” cash, so I guess if they can’t make $$$ off it, they lock your account.
Do yourselves a favor, stay away from PayPal and move to BidPay (http://www.bidpay.com).

|I use(d) $ay$al for my e-Bay and to send "Quasi" cash (You know, I owe you $20, but have no way of seeing you in the near future).
I logged into my account once a week or so, I log in Friday (November 2nd), have not had an e-Bay auction for over a month, had two cash transaction over the week previous, and BAM, I am now locked (Or as they call it: LIMITED) out without any just reason being given to me. You click on the "Why" all it says was "You violated out User Agreement". OK fine if I did that, SHOW ME HOW EXACTLY I DID IT!
They did this to me before. They base allot of their blame on "Speculation". In other words, you leave your Payment Subject titles clear, they have nothing to go on, but if you (Even joking) put "The Super-Bowl Money You won" in it, they use that as their proof.
They did it to my brother 6 months ago when a guy he worked with Sold him a set of Baseball tickets and just told him to $ay$al him the money, said within a week, his account was locked due to that transaction.
If $ay$al no longer wants me to have an account or my business, fine, then wire my money or send me a check. They claim they are allowed to hold onto my Money for up to 180 days past my last transaction. My last transaction was for $25 a owed a friend who lives in TX, I am in PA.
When E-Bay bought $ay$al a couple years ago, they changed everything. When $ay$al was first introduced it was owned and maintained by "Bank of America" and FDIC Sanctioned / Protected. When E-Bay took them over, they took all that away. In other words, there is no more protection for the user.
It's not a free service (At least it was not for me) I had a business account, so each transaction I made (With the exception of deposits into my Bank Account), I was charged a small fee. $ay$al to this minute continues to make money off my account, yet I am not allowed to touch / transfer it.
