Palm on Thursday at CES 2009 unveiled its effort to rejoin the battle for a stake of the mobile smartphone market with a completely new device running Palm's new webOS. The company seems to have learned a thing or two from Apple's iPhone. Click below for images of the Pre and tell us what you think: Is Palm back in the game?

I've had a Storm for 2 months, just mailed it into Colorware. But if this Palm was on Verizon, I'd be in the Store tomorrow.

This new smartphone is the BOMB! I'm a loyal Palm user who's been waiting a long time for a device like this. Unfortunately, the Sprint obligation is a dealbreaker for me. I have no interest in getting tied down to Sprint for two years. I would be very willing to go from AT&T to Verizion if that were an option, but not Sprint. Guess I'll have to be patient till later in the year...

I'm on Verizon and I refuse to move off it. Sucks that the best network doesn't necessarily get the best phones.
