Queen Elizabeth Joins iPod Generation
By Ed Oswald | Published June 17, 2005, 11:31 AM
Not even the Queen is immune to the allure of the iPod, according to British daily The Sun. The paper reported on Friday that Queen Elizabeth II had authorized the purchase of a 6GB silver iPod Mini. According to a royal insider, "the Queen loves music and was impressed by how small and handy the iPod is."
The paper said Prince Andrew was likely behind the purchase, having bought the Queen a cell phone in 2001. The Queen will likely not download music from iTunes onto the player, but will have one of the courtiers assist her in selecting music. "Prince Andrew will probably also help out because he's a real dab hand with gadgets."
LOL! The graphic on this article about it is hilrious!

|How do people turn such a simple news story into a political statement against people, companies, and entire countries?
I swear some people never know when to step down from their soap box.
I thought it was freak'n hilarious. Nothing more.

|wellll. at least someone has a legitimate comment to post. seriously who the f**k cares?!
the queen liked the how small and convenient it was. not what you dips***s would think about her buying it.

|The royal family and ipod have much in common both have millions of blind followers to thier status symbols.
Ipod what can it play 2 formats 3 if real cracks them again apple should allow more but they want to try to force you into their itunes store.
Not to bash ipod it is a decent player but Iriver is the better choice both have good sound quality but Iriver can play just about anything and has firmware updates for future music formats.

|I dont own an iPod anymore, but iTunes is the best program to happen to the music generation, fanastic sharing for university m8s, cheap legal downloads for everyone, its fanatastic. I own a iSquare PMP1000, but these devices would never have got as good/popular so quickly without the help of the iPod. Its stylish, and simple not packed with features most people dont need. Thanks to the iPod i can enjoy good oppostion and products of similar style. If it werent for the iPod many people wouldnt understand what an hard drive mp3 player is/does. Many people complain, but this mp3player has got fm radio or something, but the reality is which Apple realised is, fashion sells and not the little extras which many people wouldnt use.
I personally thank you Apple for making such an ingenious product.

|WMP and MSN Music sell better quality music at the same price.

|First off, I have to say how amazing it is that people have such a haterid towards the iPod. What did it ever do to you?? People have a choice, who cares what they pick...
Secondly, although this might be realitve to how far the iPod's grips have gone, which is quite amazing, I don't think this as being a relivant news story...
I do however find it interesting that she chose silver ... instead of maybe pink... or diamond studded...lmao

|"celever" is actually spelt "clever". Who the heck cares about spelling anyway? :) Using caps or correcting spelling are both quite childish to me.

|She should've gotten an iRiver ir Creative Zen. Then she wouldn't have needed CrapPod and CrapTunes

|Dude seriously STFU. You are just as ignorint as that idiot school1012. You people have to realise that A. iPod is the best rated portable hard drive music player with a share of ~82% of the portable music market. B. iTunes is the best rated music jukebox with a market share of ~75%.
So if you guys cant backup what you say, dont say it at all.
Score: 0
|Because as we all know, things that have the largest portion of the market share are automatically better!

|Oh yeah. Like Bush really. So obvious. I mean like, you must be small minded if you don't think that. Or stupid. Yeah. So nuh.
Score: 0
|Well yes when there are alternatives at the same price with the same features selling right beside the iPod.
You are comparing goods that do the same thing and sell for the same price, and obviously the Apple is found to be better than it's competitors by ~82% of buyers.

|Now lets not start is MS. They have their share of the market because they are good. They might not be the best, im not sure, i havent tried all of them. I really dont care it works for me.
And i bet you're using XP right now :D

|Imagine being the CSR teaching her how to download music.
And why do we care? I would never buy an ipod. I would rather strap a synthesizer and drum kit on my back so I can make my own music.

|thats quite a good point. BUT most of us are not as tallented as you, and wouldnt enjoy our own music, so we turn to the professionals for that sort of entertainment
