RSSVideo iPod Still on Track for Debut?

Apple rumor site Think Secret is standing behind its claim that Apple is preparing a video iPod with touch screen, despite the device being a no-show at the company's special event earlier this week. The site now reports that Apple could launch the new iPod at the end of March or in early April.
The holdup, Think Secret asserts, is the availability of movie content. Apple is said to be in talks with Hollywood studios about selling full-length feature films through the iTunes Music Store. The movies would take advantage of the new iPod's 4-inch screen. The new device is expected retain the iPod's current form factor, with the larger display replacing the scroll wheel.
Why can't apple impress me with 50hour battery?
Ipods always had poor battery performance.
No removable battery, a lousy 10 hour charge.
Since the first 1st G they gained only 3 to 4 hours per charge.
Now with a 4 inch touch screen I bet they go back down to 6-8 hours.
Apple has always been 20 years behind the rest of the PC world. (Performance wise)
Examples: It took 20 years to add to more buttons to there mouse.
It took 20 years for them to realize that even the crappiest PC was faster than the newest MAC.
Finally a Intel CPU, which is 3 to 4 faster
Even apple admits this on there site by saying 3 times faster than that s*** we had before :-)
OK!!!, now “brace” for apple fanatics to attack.

this way we can have same design, and at the same time the screen can be as big as a whole ipod.

|They are saving the best stuff for april... that's when apple turns 30 years. If they make a video iPod they should make very easy to use even if if losses the click wheel

|So, the click-wheel will be gone? That's what makes the iPod. The touch screen sounds cool, but I have to keep a protective cover on mine at all times, I can't imagine how many scratches will get on this thing. I guess you could get some kind of screen protector (which I'm sure will deminsh the quality).

|I would assume so. Although.. the content currently offered is 4:3 I believe, so it will be interesting to see how Apple would optimize a 4" screen to do both (assuming they'll support backward compatibility with this device, which they almost have to).

You just cant keep up with it. I've still got my 3rd Gen iPod, which by the way i bought about 13 months ago. Since then there have been 3 new iPods released.
