Microsoft has confirmed that it will deliver Windows XP Service Pack 2 to users via Automatic Update starting tomorrow. The company previously delayed including SP2 as an automatic update due to concerns from businesses that their infrastructures were not prepared for the significant operating system changes. Users who cannot download the hefty 100MB service pack will be able to find the update on CD bundled with numerous computer magazines, according to Microsoft. An official SP2 end-user Web site will also launch tomorrow.
No problems here on my EVO n400c notebook with McAfee Desktop Firewall 8, VirusScan Enterprise 8.0i, and Office 2003.

|I hate to admit it, but the popup blocker has better controls than the google toolbar blocker. I can specify sites where I want to allow popus. I have faith in Google releasing a revised version of their toolbar with customize popup blocking control.

|I read several articles stating that SP2 was to be removed MS Messenger. Sounded to me like it was for security issues. I used a tool to remove MS Messenger from my PC. After installing SP2...it's back!!
I find this rather curious...
It appears that using the MessengerDisable.exe tool still works fine to remove it after the SP2 update.

|Don't get your hopes too high... Because you're going to get the same problems you had when SP1 first came out.. Some minor instabilities, slowdowns here and there, fsck ups, etc... But still its better than nothing.. and give it a month and or two of minor updates and that will stabalise everything again.
Now lets see how long Longhorn will take to come out =)

|it... just... needs.... to..... download
but it says.. fail.. fail... fail.. fail..
automatic update fails and from the update site fails.. that's giving me a lot of confidence, maybe better left untouched!
