RSSZone Labs Seeks Beta Testers

Zone Labs, known for the popular ZoneAlarm firewall, is seeking additional beta testers and is offering prizes as an incentive to bug hunters. Two top testers for the month of June will each receive a $500 gift certificate from Amazon.com.
The company is specifically looking for individuals with a minimum level of software and operating system expertise, and experience with multiple versions of ZoneAlarm. Testers must be willing to submit bug reports, be comfortable with editing the registry, and be able to reinstall the operating system if need be.
To become a Zone Labs beta tester, send a blank e-mail to betasignup@zonelabs.com. An automated response will provide specific instructions on how to apply.

|From first look, ZoneAlarm PLus looks to be a "hybrid" of ZoneAlarm personal and ZoneAlarm Pro. One of the things I am glad to see in the Plus version is the email protection. ZoneAlarm Plus has a list of *47* different extensions it will "block" by changing the extension to .zlo, keeping the attachement from opening.
With the Plus version, you can also custom set settings for Local and Internet zones- DNS, DHCP, Multicast, etc, plus custom ports.
All in all, looks to be fun! Running very good so far on Win2K Pro.

|To any testers testing on a Win2k pro machine:
Every time I boot up, I get the "do you want to allow Services and Controler App permission to go online", even though I have checked the "always remember" and "yes".
Anyone else getting this?

|Zone Labs wants inexperienced users who can safely edit the registry and reinstall OS's. Sounds like they want to have their cake and eat it too. :o)

I signed up for this one, since I have been using ZoneAlarm Pro since version 1.0. If I make it in, I'll post info on what all it is about.
