iTunes to Offer TV Show Subscriptions

Making the first move toward offering subscription based downloads through its iTunes Music Store, Apple has joined forces with Comedy Central to offer TV shows on a monthly basis for $9.99. The "Multi-Pass" feature would give iTunes users access to 16 episodes of "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" and "The Colbert Report."
Customers will be able to download each show after it has been aired on Comedy Central. Thus far, Apple has stayed away from the subscription model, only selling individual songs for 99 cents and videos for $1.99. Unlike the typical subscriptions offered by iTunes competitors, however, the Multi-Pass downloads will not expire.
LMAO, Comcast is getting enough money so I can watch TV shows, no way I'm forking extra over to Apple...
And the quality isn't nearly good enough to be worth the amount of money they cost, no thanks.
"but i hav purchased shows that i missed and was unable to get anywhere else."
Im sure you can find them somewhere...

|Some people that don't have DVRs may want to use this as a way to watching their favorite shows that they have missed. I personnaly record everything with my DVR, but i hav purchased shows that i missed and was unable to get anywhere else.

|I have been able to do this for the last year through my Windows Media Center. Why would I want to use iTunes?

|sweet.. now I can pay more money for TV shows.. Parents need to control the kids money!!
80$ per month for basic cable = 960$ per year + internet
nothing like paying for a low res tv show that you can't move to other platforms..

|Yep that’s true
Although i am a fan of Apple, and do have a 3rd Gen iPod, i do think this is a rip off.
The resolution on these shows and all their videos is pathetic, only good for the iPod. The format of these shows is crap too. No one uses their format except for online videos. Everywhere else they are useless.
If Apple really wants to make a good device like their new widescreen iPod http://www.gearlive.com/...s-this-the-ipod-av-0306/
They should really make it play virtually all commonly used formats.
To even try and convert a full length movie into their format will take you at least 1 minute for every minute of the movie (or longer), which to me is ridiculous.
