'Glitch' Keeps Some AIM Users Offline

AOL told BetaNews Wednesday afternoon it is in the process of resolving a "technical glitch" that is affecting a limited number of AIM users. The problem surfaced early in the day, and resulted in some users being knocked off the service repeatedly.
The company did not say what caused the problem, which seemed to hit users in various regions of the United States. "All affected AIM users will have their service issue resolved by very early morning, though for many AIM users, the problem has already been fixed," an AOL spokesperson told BetaNews.
...and parents everywhere enjoyed a brief vacation from the world of teen drama.

|I use AIM (actually AIM Ad Hack) and tried to switch several times. The problem is that 99% of my friends only use AIM. So, using an alternative client was pointless for me. I had to always run AIM anyway.
The new AIM is a much improved client and Ad Hack makes it very minimalistic.

Yes, Tool, people still use AIM. Should we note your comment as sarcasm? Hmm?

I am relaxed, Tool. I took my Valium this morning. Sounds like you forgot your Thorazine. LOL.

Anyone in their right mind should have switched from the official client years ago. And don't gripe to me about AIM Ad Hack, it's as hypocritical as using front-ends for IE; it's a poorly written app.
Nice network, crap client.

|TerrAIM is a nice alternative with no bells and whistles. It doesn't even need an installer. They host it here in BN. Thanks BN :)
