Verizon Wireless has partnered with News Over Wireless to deliver local news content over V CAST Video.

News Over Wireless is a division of the Capitol Broadcasting Company out of North Carolina which encodes local TV content in small packages suitable for mobile consumption. The company already works with Sprint, supplying local content to its Power Vision mobile video service.

Local news content will be available on the My Local TV News channel on Verizon's V CAST, and according to the company already has over 1,000 news and sports clips available from local affiliates across the country.

V Cast is available for $3.00 per 24-hour block, or for a $15.00 monthly subscription, and users can access the new local content under "News:My Local TV News." From there, a region, city, and individual station can be selected.
