Microsoft Teasing New Game Device?

By Nate Mook | Published August 17, 2006, 2:18 PM

A new viral Web site at notfornoobs.com has launched that appears to tease an upcoming game-related device by Microsoft and hardware manufacturer Razer. While few specifics are offered by the site, it hints that more details are coming next Friday.

Both Microsoft's logo and that of Razer appear in the static on a classic TV. Razer makes peripherals for professional gamers, including high-end mice and sound cards. "I have to admit, it's not the best I've seen- putting Microsoft logos into teaser programs is a no-no in my opinion," remarked Microsoft's Sean Alexander, who says he doesn't know what's coming.

Not again. This whole "shhhhhh... DON'T TELL ANYONE WHAT'S COMING SOON..." thing is tired and worn out. MS doesn't have any brain for marketing anymore. Their marketing braindrain started years ago. The over-hyping crap seems to always fall flat and dissappoint when the curtain opens. They can't keep a real secret anymore, and the one's they intentionally leak are half-baked.

Don't trust this site!! It looks like a scam to me... no privacy statement for example. Also the countdown never really moves. It's always at 171:96:## just rotating through that minute.

ROFL. Microsoft can't even get viral marketing right. (And one of their own even admits it!)

Three to one this somehow winds up being a "Hey, guys, we have motion-detecting controllers too!" situation.
