No surprises from Samsung and Verizon with their Glyde phone

The CDMA version of Samsung's F700 that has been seen in Europe since last year, the Glyde is a GPS-enabled 2.8" touchscreen and QWERTY slider that will be made available to Verizon customers tomorrow both online and at company stores.

The cardinal elements of the handset's design have been re-hashed by practically every major mobile phone manufacturer from LG with its KS20/Prada Phone to this week's HTC Touch Diamond, making it stand out far less than if it had adopted a unique form factor.

Nevertheless, the Glyde offers a full set of features, which include: a 2.0 megapixel flash camera with 1600x1200, 1280x960, 1024x768, 640x480, 320x240, and 176x144 resolution settings, Bluetooth, up to 8 GB of microSD-expandable memory, and MP3 player functionality with 2.5mm headphone output.

The Glyde will be available for $299.99 with a new two-year contract and offer a $50 mail-in rebate.

If anyone cares its available for $249 with a $50 online discount which brings it to $199

How could a CDMA version of a phone be offered in Europe if there are basically no CDMA carriers/networks there?

it's not saying there was a cdma version in europe... it's saying this is the cdma version (the Glyde) of a phone that has been in europe (F700, that was GSM)
