Nokia Linux Internet Tablet Delayed

Nokia's Internet Tablet has been delayed due to software issues, the mobile phone maker told the Reuters on Wednesday. The Nokia 770 had originally been scheduled for a late summer launch. The tablet runs on the Linux operating system, and would allow users to check e-mail, browse the Web and view multimedia files.
According to Nokia, the finalization of the tablet's operating system took longer than anticipated, causing a delay in shipment. The device is expected to retail for $350 USD and will first be available in the United States and Europe. Initial versions will not have phone capabilities, but Nokia plans to add those features in future updates.
No phone?? Good! Phones should be just that and focus on what phones are designed for, cear comminication. The cell phone mentality of "it slices and dices" is getting worse with a bunch of features and the phone quality suffers....If I wanna a phone just give me a phone that works and thats it.

|It's interesting that they use Linus's home town in the pictures.

|That's because Nokia and Linus come from the same place...

|Hmm, did not know that.

|That looks pretty sweet. I would be much more interested in one of these than those portable media players.

Sounds good. Add a video camera to that and video-conferencing capabilities, and you've got everything you need right there.

Picture one looks like theres a usb port so just hook up a webcam with built in microphone and do it via messenger.
Probaly drain the battery fast thou:(

|USB port isn't powered. You'd either have to modify the device, or some company would have to put out a battery powered USB webcam.
