Bugs in Trillian 2.013 Pro like the "jim is typing a message" appear randomly even when the other person is not typing a message. And also if you type a message and backspace it to delete it and end it, it still shows your typing a message. Also their is a bug with the display pictures, sometimes they refuse to update or even show old ones randomly. Also I have experienced various problems with sending files through Yahoo and AIM, not sure whether these are bugs or not.
If they get it together in Trillian 3 it should be even better.

I still did not get any contact about the 3.0 betas.
What I suggest is :
- Support SMS sending
- Support file transfer inside shared internet connection using local IP and behind firewall.
- Lower system resources
- more smiley
and others

Yea the beta form is pretty lame thats for sure. But I can say I have been using the .74(I think) version for about a year now and there has been no problem at all.
To everybody complaining about rev numbers - who cares about the rev # when it's free? If it works then what's the difference if you call it .74 or 7.0 or 700 for that matter? It just doesn't matter.
Because it has worked well for me I will get the 3.0 basic version but I must say I only use this thing for work not for chating with people or whatever everybody does with it.

Seems the application form makes no mention of what you do, or why you should qualify as a beta tester for Trillian 3.0..
Seems it's a lucky dip, which means the majority of beta testers will be chumps that want a free early copy..

Actually, I can tell you from experience (I was a beta tester for the 1st. pro version) that they ask for folks with experience in the field, ie. programmers, graphics designers, web designers, network techs, etc., and they do ask for a bit of proof.

Hope they've fixed the bug with the missing messages in the previous version. What's the point if it's not reliable.

The only ones who had the "missing messages" problem were the ones who didn't PAY for the Pro version and downloaded it somewhere. See Tril's forum for details and numerous amount of locked threads and deleted names.

has it ever bothered anyone else that the free version never reached 1.0?

have you used the software? it's not that trillian basic isn't complete it's poor version numbering and poor branding.

lol, no, considering that ICQ has been in beta for about 7 years and it's worked fine all that time :)
Seriously though, I suggest you read the post regarding their numbering system on the Cerulean blog here: http://blog.ceruleanstudios.com/
It states that the FREE version never reached 1.0 status because they never felt it was feature complete, Not because it was still in beta. They are correcting this issue with the 3.0 version, as the new versions will be numbered '3.0 Pro' and '3.0 Basic'.

How is it poor branding? All their products are clearly branded. I've seen a lot worse version numbering... I think it makes perfect sense in the content Cerulean Studios has explained it (see above post).

go to their blog page. they say it for themselves. it makes more sense to call it trillian basic 2.0 then it does trillian basic .74. otherwise you get people like the guy above thinking it's missing something or is half done.
