The online user-created encyclopedia Wikipedia racked up its 1 millionth English language article on Wednesday, marking a significant milestone for a service that has faced much controversy over the years. The article covered the Jordanhill railway station in Scotland and was authored by Ewan Macdonald.

Wikimedia Foundation, the non-profit organization behind the project, says a total of 3.3 million articles are under development in more than 125 languages. "Although its method of editing is new and controversial, Wikipedia has already won acclaim and awards for its detailed coverage of current events, popular culture, and scientific topics; its usability; and its international community of contributors," the Foundation said in a statement.

One Million Wikipedia posts mean one Million times the world has been fooled into thinking that the posts were made by independent Wikpedia users. Actually these one million posts have been made by crooked Companies like Zedo who want to Use Wikipedia to proclaim to the world that they are Adservers and to hide the fact that they are Adwares who instal their rojan Horses to deliver the ads of their clients. These adwares do not share any revenues they make from their clients with the publishers of any webpages like the legitemate adservers like Google do.

Wikimedia is no longer non-profit organization. It is cheating and defrauding the government and IRS. The Wikipedia adminstrators get millions of dollars from the companies to write the articles in the names of Wikipedia Adminstrators who are known as Wikipedia Users. This writer is a new wikipedia Users who has become a frustrated Wikipedia user because his editing has been immediately reverted and removed by Adminstrator ZimZalaZim and eventually his computers were blocked on November 7, 2006 upon the complaint by Wikipedia User DoGooderJohnnyD on November 6, 2006 that Wikipedia user fakir005 (sock puppet of Wikipedia User Bimzalazim who must not be confused with Wikipedia Adminstrator ZimZalaZim). BimZalaZim compuer is now unblocked but he is not allowed to edit.

I am quite happy that wikipedia has reached 1 Million articles. I am also expecting my mother tongue Tamil wikipedia will also reach more than 10, 000 articels by end of this year (Currently more than 2, 100 articels)

I wonder if there's an article detailing the changes made to articles by the people they're about. For example, Senator Dianne Feinstein's staff removed references to a scandal involving her husband--is there an article that makes note of things like that? Somehow I doubt it.

No one has the right to go in and modify or edit an article about anyone. And while Wikipedia allowed this to happen in the past I was happy to see that they no longer allow this practice. The only time a change should be made is after it has been verified, and verified again, by credible sources. I would want to know who posted the references to the scandal to begin with regardless of whom the scandal was/is about. Before Wikipedia stopped the practice of being able to edit willy nilly, the number of articles which were edited and changed was startling and many times the information was so far out in left field it was disgusting.
