Accessories maker Logitech posts 70 percent loss, cuts 550 jobs

As the PC market continues to slide, it's carrying the peripherals market downhill, too, with major accessibility components maker Logitech reporting a 70% drop in net income for the quarter ending December 31.

Intel's convertible Classmate is only the second in a netbook PC series

Intel's second Classmate netbook for kids, introduced at CES, will be followed by more Classmate PCs, not necessarily devised in a "lunchbox" style, said Mark Parker, global launch manager for Intel's Classmates.

First look at EchoStar SlingLoaded 922 HD DVR

At CES 2009, EchoStar previewed a new 1 TB HD DVR with an integrated Slingbox. Combining TV and IP technologies, the DVR will include a touchpad remote control, RF support, and brand new, tile-based user interface.
