11.0 Final Preview Build 3 (Sep 12, 2006)
Vantorax has a point. RC's, pre-RC's, Final Preview's etc it's rediculous. However I still think Avant is one of the best IE shell and I'm a big fan of the Bookmarks manager
2.0 Beta 2 (Aug 25, 2006)
Been using it for about a month now. Very elegant, and simple to use and offers basic password protection as well as backup capability. The freeware version does the job for me
11.0 RC5 (Aug 19, 2006)
The bookmark manager is good like Mozilla Firefox's..The do-you-wanna-remember-this system isn't annoying and the menu's are very fast to navigate, no slowdowns for me. But most of all I really like the Bookmarks section
4.7.26008 Beta (Aug 16, 2006)
i dont want to rant here but "Blocking ads is wrong, they are what pay for the sites you are visiting." - wow, im sorry im not particularly interested in what 101% of the adverts on the internet offer me you damn geek. ill go join a poker site and get my credit card scammed if that will make you happy!!!!!
"I have read of people getting threats from the developers claiming their copy is pirated and if they don't pay $25 right away they'll be prosecuted and then lists this huge fine and prison sentence."
DUDE, if you are using a cracked copy, u are bascially stealing their software.
11.0 RC1 (Aug 13, 2006)
well this is my first try of the new version of avant, and it works great..for me at least. I like the bookmark manager too and the new interface is a bit fresher than the previous version of this browser.
11.0 RC1 (Oct 19, 2006 - 12:59 PM)
i dont really understand it all, i have used all manner of browsers for a long time, purchased online with them, and still no spyware or viruses, i dont even use an AV or firewall, at all. My PC hasn't been reformatted in at least 6 months.
However I do have nearly every tracking cookie in existence blocked, and ads and the like.
Sometimes, there is annoying problems like IE not playing flash videos. However, justifies my use of 2 or more browsers, my belief it's good to have another browser as a measure because, quite frankly no browser works 100% error free, all the time.
So all in all I like IE7, this final version seemed to have fixed a previous prob for me -- re-opening new tab took an annoying 2 seconds.[i didnt count, honest] Now it is more or less instantaneous. :P
I just think it would be good if microsoft could justify some skin development, although i dont have any niggles with the current interface
11.0 RC1 (Oct 14, 2006 - 10:03 AM)
well, i dont really care -- im not picky with computers. I'll be buying Vista, when it comes out. With Microsoft, and computer software in general, newer is usually better, 95% of the time. And don't tell me about Norton AntiVirus -- thats the exception. Vista will be better than XP. People will get bored of Vista. Theyll want something else. Ad infinitum...
I don't mind XP becoz its all I know. When Vista comes out, XP will suck like Windows 98....
11.0 RC1 (Oct 10, 2006 - 1:31 PM)
there will always be a vast amount of ''illegal'' stuff on youtube, for as long as it remains online. its because a large number of the userbase only go there to watch music videos, The Colbert Report, and the occasional documentary which took you hours to find.[just about describes me. ohh, and Google Video is exellent for docs'.]
And the proof is in the pudding
11.0 RC1 (Oct 5, 2006 - 7:00 PM)
if its makeable its breakable
11.0 RC1 (Oct 4, 2006 - 4:16 PM)
I honestly cant figure out why ppl bother. Is their life so s***, that they dont have anything productive to do with it?
Thank god i have something to live for
is all i say
