6.5.8.1 Beta (Sep 10, 2009)
As expected, works great and didn't cost anything for the update.
6.5.6.1 Beta (Jun 18, 2009)
As others have noted below, Betanews needs to change the rating system or just not tolerate people like Dudeboyzs whom have even stated on here that they have a grudge with the AnyDVD authors. Even though they say that they did not "start it" they have a grudge and should not be allowed to incessantly run down a very good piece of software with a rating of 1 or 2 because of this fight. Maybe Betanews should have the viseral fortitude to tell them enogh is enough. If Betanews wishes to keep its credibility they need to do something. BTW, AnyDVD is a very good piece of software that does exactly what it is supposed to do in the manner in which it was written. It does not need to to do things in the manner that someone else wants as long as it works well.
6.5.5.5 (Jun 1, 2009)
As stated before, AnyDVD works and works very well. The fact that they chose to write code the way they want and not include methods they don't feel are necessary to do the job for which it was written is NOT a good reason to keep giving a low score. The software does what the authors wrote it to do. The fact that they did not write it the way Dudeboyz wants it is an unjustifiable reason to mark it down. If someone else wants it to include different features or methods that the author doesn't agrre with they can offer a coding solution to them or write thier own competing software. Yes we are over all your whining that they won't do what YOU want.
Service Pack 2 RC (Mar 7, 2009)
Installed SP2 and the 2 security updates and my DVD copy programs stopped working. Uninstalled them and they now work again. Seems MS has not changed it ways yet.
6.5.2.3 Beta (Oct 18, 2009 - 10:47 AM)
Capitalism and "complaining" have nothing to do with honesty and integrity. I live in a large city and I pay for 20 MB service, but I don't often get it. I agree the US is the best country. Only a fool says if you don't like your cable service you should move to another city or even another country. Openly commenting on the failure of these companies to fulfill contracts is a way to bring it to light and possibly get regulations to force them to do so. People like you encourage them to decieve the public and steal by charging excessive fees for inferior service. You are not part of the cure, you are part of the problem.
6.5.2.3 Beta (Oct 17, 2009 - 1:38 PM)
It's the same old story. Greed. The companies want every drop of profit they can get for the absolute lowest cost to them. They run too many customers on too little bandwidth. We all know how common it is to have your connection slow to a crawl or even fail due to this problem. I pay extra for guaranteed speed and still I get slowdowns too often. Every time you ask that the problem to be looked into, it gets buried behind the phrases "free enterprise" and "we can't stay in business without a profit". Greed is still the American (corporate) way.
6.5.2.3 Beta (Feb 7, 2009 - 12:03 PM)
They are hiring from outside to keep the profit margin up. Where do you think those huge salaries and bonus packages come from? While they keep sending jobs ($$) and training ($$) and technology ($$) overseas the US unemployment rate continues to rise. Dollars go overseas and with them the ability to support families and recirculate money in the local economy. This is plain and simple about corporate greed and high pay for CEOs and etc. It's time to stop the lies and coverups. All bailout money should be directed into American business, American products and services, and American workers paychecks.
6.5.2.3 Beta (Jul 27, 2008 - 8:21 AM)
Look at your own reply. You don't think spammers deserve jail? You think they should be allowed to keep the money they have cheated people out of? They are self centered and care only about themselves. BTW, are you a spammer? Your post makes you look like one.
6.5.2.3 Beta (Jul 25, 2008 - 5:03 PM)
This just shows how truly sick these spammers are. They have no regard for people online or offline. They are always trying to beat the system and make big money. I think 10 to 15 years and forfiture of all there money would be appropriate. To kill your family over your going to jail for breaking the law has got to be one of the sickest things ever.
