2.4Ghz = 802.11b/g/n, 2.4Ghz cordless phones, wireless game controllers, bluetooth, wireless headphones, x10 wireless cameras, some microwave ovens...
I enforced a ban all 2.4Ghz phones from our house (network would drop when phone rings) but everything else plays fairly nice.

lol- is blockbuster still around?
i don't think I have rented a movie from a 'video store' since the late 90s; between 'video-on-demand', Netflix and $5 DVDs at BestBuy/MovieStop/Wal-Mart (oh, and UseNet) I haven't had to resort to the drudgery of a blockbuster rental/return (mmmm, late fees!); this business model is antiquated will be obsolete in the next few years.
what about 'hollywood video'; are those guys still in business?

Why is it that you think HD-DVD is the 'wrong horse'? And where do you see they backtracked with Blu-Ray? Last I heard neither standard has called it quits- and Microsoft said 'Hell No' for Blu-Ray support:
http://crunchgear.com/20...ort-blu-ray-stop-asking/
Both are nearly identical standards- save for the reduced costs to produce HD-DVD discs- and both are equally overpriced (Save HD-DVD players are about 1/2 price of the Blu-Ray).
If Sony's greed and desire to own the market by forcing their 'standard' prevail, we will have yet another BetaMax/MiniDisc/SACD/UMD.
Personally, I would rather buy a HD-DVD player ($299 for father's day) and some movies just to say 'Screw you Sony'- they much deserve it for their arrogance...

and in other news, Wal-Mart is getting ready to sell a $299 HD-DVD player... (or is it Blu-Ray?)
http://www.engadgethd.co...d-dvd-player-on-the-way/
should be interesting to see what happens to the market when an (almost) affordable player comes out...
but don't get me wrong- i don't dislike Blu-Ray or HD-DVD; I just hate Sony after having to deal with their lousy products/support for 10+ years!

Where do you live that these things are so popular?
PS3s are collecting dust on the shelves at all the BestBuy and Target stores I have visited in Atlanta.
