For anyone that thinks XviD will not be supported by a commercial product:

Worse still, after the initial time period, you must continue to pay if you want the latest version. You must purchase a "subscription" to get updates. If you let subscription expire, you can renew it, but "the months are counted since your previous subscription ended". So, if it has been 36 months, you must purchase a subscription for at least that amount. The rate is $17 for 24 months, so you must pay $34 for 48 months to catch up. Heck, a new copy only costs $27.

    Forget that.

  4. Comment - Never mind the iPods, there's a new Palm device!

    3.00.139 Beta (Sep 14, 2009 - 7:29 PM)

As bousozoku stated, the Pixi has a resolution of 320x400. You really need to correct your article.

    3.00.139 Beta (Oct 22, 2004 - 1:37 AM)

It is a sad irony the only real competition to Adobe Photoshop will now be destroyed. Once again, the big behemoth will win. I can afford to purchase PSP (and I have), but there is no way I could afford Photoslop.

  8. Comment - Microsoft Patents Borg Technology

    3.00.139 Beta (Jun 26, 2004 - 4:59 PM)

MS may have been granted a patent on this, but the basic technique has been around for years. MS may be first to market a product with it. (Think Xerox PARC with windows & Apple Lisa) One proposed use would be to exchange contact info when you shake someone's hand.

There is no (known) danger using this technique because of the ultralow frequencies involved.

I wonder what would happen to your electronic device the first time you get a good static electric shock?
