  1. Review - BitTornado

    0.3.17 (Oct 19, 2006)

I used this until the end of last year. It old then, and it had been old for some time before then. The author keeps promsing a new interface, but at this point I don't see any reason to go on with it. There are tons of established clients that are simply better than 'Tornado, and the author will have to play a lot of the catch-up game. Why bother?

I prefer uTorrent, but if that's not your thing, there are many other clients out there that are better than this. It's buggy, old, and inefficient. Let it die.

  2. Review - AOL Instant Messenger for Windows

    0.10.6 Beta (Nov 16, 2005)

It's definitely getting better, but it's not yet great. It's still very sluggish and there are TOO many features. Maybe they should release a "lite" version of AIM.

Apparently I've downloaded the wrong program, because this is not a 4 or 5 star prorgram, like many people here are calling it...

  3. Review - AOL Instant Messenger for Windows

    0.8.8 Beta (Oct 26, 2005)

mtech, this is a site for beta releases, where we can review beta releases. The program is in beta. This isn't finalversionnews.com, is it? If it was, we wouldn't be posting "Oh, the final is good, but the beta was terrible, so I give it 2 stars." You're saying the opposite: "Oh, it's beta and it may suck, but since the final may be good, I'm giving it 4 stars." Does it make any sense at all to do that? No. Don't complain that people are giving terrible beta software terrible scores--what becomes of this software in its non-beta (final) release has nothing to do with the state of the program while in beta.

Anyway, this program continues to be terrible. I've frequently used the betas since the very beginning and each is extremely buggy. I don't know why they keep adding features but don't work on cutting down system resources. This program is a mess. People want to talk to their friends, not have their lives revolve around some IM program.

  4. Review - Paint Shop Pro

    10.01 (Oct 3, 2005)

Version 7 was the best. 8 was a major letdown, 9 was slightly better, and X is about the same as 9. Not worth the upgrade, really.

I can't stand that anything after version 7. The programs use so many resources when I'm not even doing anything, so imagine how many resources are used when I'm using the program.

  5. Review - Ace Utilities for Windows 2000/XP/2003/Vista

    3.0 Beta (Sep 27, 2005)

Very impressive. It's hardly comparable to CCleaner, as this program has way more features. It's worth at least evaulating.

  6. Comment - Dell Ditty to Take On iPod Shuffle

    3.0 Beta (Sep 20, 2005 - 4:39 PM)

Haha. That made my day. Thank you.

Now I'm going to think of that everytime I see that MP3 player.
