  1. Review - Active KillDisk

    5.1 (Jul 10, 2009)

The zero-fill option is usefull when you want to wipe the drive completely -
for example before installing OS on a used harddrive.

Therefore it also wipes out traces from copy protection that some software adds to your drive (like 3dsmax/Photoshop) that can not be removed by using Windows full format/delete partition.

    ** EDIT **
Zero-fill is not the same as normal formatting!
Formatting will not remove all data.
Use WinHex software to see the difference.

  4. Review - WinHex

    15.0 (Jul 4, 2008)

    i quite like this

you have good control over hidden entries
made to the hd sectors, that will not go away after i delete the partition, make a new
partition and then do a full format of the drive

entries made by 3dsmax and photoshop (in sector 32)

  5. Review - REAPER for Windows (x86)

    2.206 (May 25, 2008)

nice software, low on resources and cheap to buy

some parts of the interface a bit too bright
    for my eyes though
