Actually Toshiba themselves in their own statement said that they only sold 600,000 in USA, and less than 800,000 world wide. That is a far cry from 1.3 million.
Plus, if you really want to fool yourself into thinking it is worth holding onto a format that will not see new titles or future releases of any kind, go right ahead and delude yourself. The rest of us are buying Blu-ray.

This interview was totally biased toward HD DVD. I hate to say it, but all of this is spin!
Attach rates AGAIN! Claiming the PS3 isn't a movie player! AGAIN!
At least I am glad to know that Blu-ray has had 85% of the market last week, and still has 63% of the market overall (or more), and both players and movie sales are going up for Blu-ray. Attach rates mean nothing when the units being moved are much higher.

I hope to GOD they just end this format war NOW. Once and for all!
I have had enough of this bickering, confusion, FUD, and ill will due to this stupid format war!
Universal has no choice and HD DVD promo group has to step down! They have to learn now that the end of HD DVD is at hand and it is a waste of time and effort to refute that!

Sure consumers are choosing HD DVD, but MORE consumers are choosing Blu-ray. The sales for OVER A YEAR have been in favor of Bu-ray every week! There has never been on week in all of 2007+ where HD DVD outsold Blu-ray. You can check that with Nielson numbers.
However I think it was a very good idea to not include an internal drive so late in the game, it would only add confusion and frustration. Adding a Blu-ray add-on would be a very smart move by Microsoft since they can tap into the Gaming community who feels let down by the sudden popularity of Blu-ray. Finally 360 gamers could play Disney, Fox, Sony, etc... movies on their XBOX without having to buy a whole new system.
