  1. Review - Microsoft Security Essentials

    1.0.1611.0 (Sep 30, 2009)

This is very good software and it works well.

I too do not like the idea of not being able to disable spynet and it sends info to Microsoft. But in all reality, what truly is the harm, Microsoft is not the first to do this and in fact many do it. I guess, if your not doing anything illegal, you really have not much to worry about. BUT they should give us that choice, not make it for us. That is the only thing I do not like about this software, not being able to turn off spynet. But software makers are notorious for doing this.

  2. Review - Comodo Internet Security (32-bit)

    3.5.57173.439 (Dec 4, 2008)

For one thing, all three in one program is not the best option at all. I have had problems with this program not cooperating well with some things. I choose not to use it, I prefer others for myself. Some will say it is excellent and others will say just the opposite. I will just say it is not for me. To each their own and everyone has a right to put on their computer what they wish, not what another insists upon.

  3. Review - RealPlayer for Windows

    11.0.0.477 (Nov 6, 2008)

Excellent product, have used it for year with little or no problems. I like real player as well as a few others. For FREE it is excellent and well worth having. Nothing on internet is perfect so I give this a 4..

  4. Review - JavaRa

  5. Review - Mozilla Firefox for Windows (v3)

    3.0 (Jun 17, 2008)

    Hello everyone,

I like Firefox and I use it, but I also use several other browsers that I regard as just as good as Firefox. People have a right to express their opinions about any browser they like, but they do not have a right to insist others agree with them especially when they do not have to.

It is almost like the people who like Firefox and there are allot, just set here waiting for anyone who dares to disagree with them, how childish to argue on a forum of what one likes or dislikes.

I say, if it works and you like it, that is what you should use and you do not need anyone's opinion or permission to do that.

I downloaded this, I do not think it is the real final version, as my firewall nor anti virus detected it as new. In fact, if you read below another detected that also, so I do not think they have started yet. But I could be mistaken too.

just my opinion is all but some of you here need a lesson in people skills and stop thinking of yourself as so important when your not.

    Dakota

  6. Comment - Q: How essential is Microsoft Security Essentials? A: Does your door have a lock?

    3.0 (Sep 30, 2009 - 8:42 AM)

This is excellent software regardless of those who do not like Microsoft. It works well and you barely notice it working if at all, I rather like that. It is not intrusive.

ONE thing I do not care for is NOT being able to turn off spynet (can that be done?) and it reports back to Microsoft. But in all reality, this problem is not new, many software makers do that. Every time it checks for updates, it leaves a footprint from any software request, not just Microsoft. But still we should be given the option to turn it off if we wish.

So far so good...I like it..

  7. Comment - French bill would ban Internet use for illegal downloaders

    3.0 (Jun 19, 2008 - 9:13 PM)

As prevalent as internet is and so many areas in which to connect to it anyone can find a internet connection with little or no trouble. It is very easy to find in any part of the world unless you live in a cave. So in my estimation, the French government (as usual of course) is wasting it times on such a lame law. In all actuality it is rather senseless and moronic to make such a law, it will not work nor will it prevent downloading of any software, be it music, movies or whatever.

  8. Comment - First reports of a Firefox 3 vulnerability

    3.0 (Jun 19, 2008 - 7:27 PM)

Yes I agree, with all the gloating over the new Firefox it was and is a bit embarrassing to see people act so silly over software. I think Firefox is a excellent piece of software and I do use it. It is sad to have a vulnerability already, which tells me, no matter what any browser maker creates or how they do it, there is always someone out there ready to break it for you. It makes no difference if it is Opera, IE, Safari, or Firefox, a browser is a browser if it does what you want. I use several, but it is just a shame so many are willing to break things on others and think they are so smart. Hackers really make me kind of sick, they are pathetic.

  9. Comment - Mozilla: 1.6 million downloads and counting

    3.0 (Jun 17, 2008 - 9:26 PM)

LOL, the way Mozilla is acting and some of the people on here, you would think God just spoke to the nations. It is a browser, not a matter of life and death, this is turning out to be such a farce over software..

  10. Comment - Mozilla Firefox 3.0 final release under way

    3.0 (Jun 17, 2008 - 1:19 PM)

Yessss some one with some sense on this web site. Thank you "computershack", your perhaps the smartest one here. I should think others would have more important things to worry about than a web browser.
