Program is outstanding. Does what it says, and does it well. 5/5.

  3. Review - AnyDVD HD

    6.2.0.0 Beta (Nov 20, 2007)

Program does what it's designed to do and does it well.

@ DanielCarver, Winkler, Methsrine (one and the same?) If you don't like this software, and apparently you don't, then why waste your time here bashing it, just move on to something you DO like. Your low ratings and non-comments serve no purpose, and do nothing for this community or to help give constructive feedback to make this a better product.

  4. Review - TeaVea Media Recode

    1.0.0.9 Beta (Nov 14, 2007)

rmvb is RealMedia video. And though this may bring on some flamers... like the company or not, there were a couple years ago, some third-party software that used to convert DVD and other formats to rmvb. Competing with the XviD and DivX formats... Though those two formats have matured since then and other formats have since entered the scene, rmvb gave a better resulting video when compressing a movie to fit on a CD. And utilizing some 'alternative' codecs, you never had to install the problematic RealPlayer software.

I have no idea where rmvb stands today against current compression codecs, and I haven't used this format in years. I'll check it out, but I think the loyalty people have with the more popular codecs will prevent this from making too much of a difference.

Also, the software's homepage seems to be unfinished or quickly thrown together... so there is no way to get any information on the product. Giving a 3, but will re-rate when I know more about this software.

  5. Review - AnyDVD HD

    6.1.9.4 Beta (Oct 31, 2007)

This is good stuff and does EXACTLY what it says it does.

And yes the offer is for free 'updates' and you bought the version that decodes DVD's. And they are still honoring that.... don't confuse HD-DVD's (and soon BlueRay) with a DVD, just as a DVD isn't a CD, an HD-DVD isn a DVD... you said it your self.... different 'format'. Just because both formats deal with video, they aren't the same. The new version was an 'upgrade' and not part of the original deal.

But all that aside, I still find that this program is constantly updated. Works well with my ripping and burning software... and I like it.

If they unlock my genome, does that mean I will work on more than one network?

  7. Comment - Mac Porn Surfers Subject to QT Flaw

    6.1.9.4 Beta (Nov 3, 2007 - 10:00 AM)

So.. now there is Mac Porn (or should that be iPorn)? And how is that different from PC Porn (ie MSPorn)? I just can't keep up anymore.... call me old school, but I still like my DOS Porn!

  8. Comment - FCC Calls for Comments on DTV Transition

    6.1.9.4 Beta (Jul 31, 2007 - 12:37 PM)

Taking comments FCC? Here's mine. Let's get on with the transition. Looking forward to DTV and all the new bandwidth allocation. The more there are delays... the more time that unscrupulous salesmen have to prey on the fears of an unsuspecting public, to hawk their wares. And it will keep the various Stations that are delaying spending the money to upgrade their equipment as they should have already done.

I'm not worried about the public being left out to dry by not having the proper equipment to view what's available. Cable companies will provide equipment to view... and if you ONLY use OTA... well you will have to upgrade your TV or get a conversion box. It's called progress.

    6.1.9.4 Beta (Jan 30, 2007 - 5:20 PM)

Gates: So there I was watching the scoreboard with a beer in one hand and a hotdog in the other, and just as my team was about to score, the screen went blue and said "Windows has performed an illegal instruction and must shut-down." That's when I came up with the idea of .........

Ballmer: Alright, alright, I got a million of them. Now stop me if you've heard this one......

  10. Comment - Microsoft to Lock Pirates Out of Vista

    6.1.9.4 Beta (Oct 5, 2006 - 3:37 PM)

Well when you make something idiot proof, they WILL make a better idiot....

Nothing is unhackable and by announcing that it will be is just slapping the hacking community with a gauntlet. Watch what happen now.....
