  1. Review - Hitman Pro

    3.0.0.2715 Beta (Oct 11, 2008)

Why are the reviewers here such IDIOTS! Come ON! TRY the program before you review it! Hitman Pro 3.0 is a different program than Hitman Pro 2. Hitman Pro 2 installs other antispyware programs, and configures them automatically, indeed giving you less control. Hitman Pro 3 doesn't even install other antispyware programs. And it sure does give you control. It checks the program it finds against an online database, and lets you decide if you think it's spyware too.

If course you can rate this program low, but please, try it before you do. The guys below who gave it one star haven't.

  2. Review - Hitman Pro

    3.0.0.2515 Beta (Sep 30, 2008)

Stop giving this a low rating because antivirus software think it's dangerous. It's not. As he explains on his site, he uses the AutoIt macro scripting language to create Hitman Pro, and antivirus software is very over-sensitive to that language, because macro's are easily used for bad things, like ruining your pc.

So stop being stupid and rate this program for what it does, and not for the false positives caused by NOD32 etc.

  3. Review - Hitman Pro

    3.0.0.2405 Beta (Sep 15, 2008)

I really really like the new version. Maybe they should have given in another name, because it has nothing to do with the 'old' Hitman Pro, but whatever.

The idea is that Hitman Pro 3 is not a program that installs a bunch of other antispyware programs and clicks the buttons for you, as in version 2, but that it has it's own detection engine. When's it ready detecting every file which might be spyware, it checks them against a database on the internetz. When it knows the file, it says it's safe or not, and when it doesn't know the file, it says it doesn't know the file. ;-) So you don't get false positives, because you really have to choose yourself if you think it's harmful or not. It also does check against some criteria, like if the process is in use, if it's in a system folder, like system32, etc.

All in all, it's a great program, but only for people who know what they're doing. For people who just want to click next a couple of times: move along.

  4. Review - Opera for Windows

    9.50 Build 9864 Beta (Mar 29, 2008)

@Diam0nd: indeed, I misunderstood. And I do agree an API would be helpful.

Please delete this discussion, by the way.

  5. Review - Real Alternative Lite

    1.51 (Oct 19, 2006)

Perfect. With the addition of a 'Lite' version, they made it perfect. There is nothing they can do to improve it, apart from keeping it up-to-date, so it's a well-earned 5 stars.
