It works. What else could you ask for?
1.1.2 RC (Apr 8, 2004)
Not too bad - the integration is well done. But too many key features are *missing*, like the ability to underline text or alter page margins.
I didn't detect any spyware, though.
Development Build 74 (Mar 26, 2004)
Where do I begin? Click the play button: instant crash. Click the close button: instant crash. The feature set is OK, other than the lack of FF and Rewind capabilities. I guess those weren't considered important?!
1.0 (Jan 6, 2004)
Very weak. Clumsy interface, poor execution. Even the graphics are grainy.
Don't waste your time.
4.0 Beta 6 (Dec 29, 2003)
I haven't downloaded it, but I don't like the name because it reminds me of Keanu Reeves. (shudder)
4.0 Beta 6 (Mar 7, 2004 - 4:10 AM)
Corel has a sweet arrangement with the Canadian government, who buys tens of thousands of licenses to Corel office suite packages in order to "discreetly" subsidize a Canadian company. Whee! Everyone wins. Except the poor suckers who actually have to use the thing, but still need Powerpoint (and therefore obtain Office XP as well) for presentations.
So, um, why not just use Office for everything? Because Corel's shiny office building in Ottawa would have a "For sale" sign on it.
4.0 Beta 6 (Jun 11, 2003 - 11:52 AM)
No doubt it *would* have happened sooner if not for all of the antitrust furor. Has anyone actually benefited from the lawsuits against Microsoft, other than the lawyers?
4.0 Beta 6 (Jun 10, 2003 - 10:34 PM)
XP's built-in firewall is sufficient for most users, don't you think?
4.0 Beta 6 (Apr 29, 2003 - 8:27 PM)
Yep. Windows 9x didn't manage shortcuts that way, so it was easy to get broken associations. But Win2K and XP do.
However, WFS looks great. I'm happy to move towards an abstracted file system where physical file locations are generally unimportant.
4.0 Beta 6 (Apr 8, 2003 - 7:14 PM)
Why does Microsoft want me to squirt water out of my hands?
