Adoption of any new product takes time, but doing nothing guarantees nothing will change. There are some neat features that will definitely be used in the next version of Office. I am not sure about LiveOffice, but the company is already purchased.

Are you an Internet Cafe bigot? ;->
The Internet is a part of life. It makes sense that it will become as prevalent in fast food joints as java houses. Right now, the pricing structure is a bit high for my tastes, but my tastes may change. If I ate at Mickey D's very often, this might actually be cool news.

There are some who like the product, and some who do not. It is certainly not a high end digital suite, and will not replace the full PhotoShop (either for digital images or web site images) for sure. But, I am sure that is not the intended market, considering the price.

As an analogy, 9x is a river and NT is a road. While you can create a vehicle that works on both the road and the river, it is not as efficient as one that runs on one and not the other. In contrast, Mac is like a paved road and a dirt road. It is much easier to build a single vehicle for both.
If this is enough reason for you to never use Windows, that is fine. I see it as a necessary evil to ensure that the code base tightens up.
