  2. Review - WebLog Expert

    3.1 Beta 2 (Jul 20, 2004)

There are no changes noted for WebLog Expert 3.1 Beta 2 -- which means that I have no reason to try this out! I need to know what's new and why I should look forward to the upgrade. Yes, I have a license for this product and use it to run nightly reports! Update notes! It's not that hard!

  6. Comment - Flaw Found in Windows XP SP2

    4.6 (Aug 21, 2004 - 11:40 AM)

This is sensationalism, nothing more. The "Flaw Found in Windows XP SP2" is apparently a flaw found in Internet Explorer. Did anyone honestly think that SP2 was going to be the last security patch for Windows XP? I believe this is just Secunia's way of making a name for themselves. "Ew! Ew! We were the first to find a flaw in XP SP2!"

Although, honestly I know nothing about the company and this is probably an isolated event for them, it just seems like companies try to make a name for themselves by being the first to point out a Microsoft problem, thus making them better than Microsoft, in a subliminal way.

    Just my 2¢.

  7. Comment - Microsoft Plugs IE Hole

    4.6 (Jul 29, 2004 - 6:55 PM)

While I do agree that alternate browsers are nice, most users with Windows Operating Systems still use their default browser, Internet Explorer. Developers of large web sites seem to know this. Take Sony Online Entertainment for example. In order to install and run Star Wars Galaxies, you must have Internet Explorer installed. In order to use the forum toolbar on their site, you have to use Internet Explorer -- it just doesn't show up if you use another browser (to the best of my knowledge, although I'm only a Firefox user, not any other third-party browser). So, until there is a huge s*** for companies to pull away from coding for IE, we'll always need it on our system. If you want to see how many bugs have been found in IE 6.1 SP1, go to this site (http://www.securityfocus.com/bid/vendor/) and select microsoft, internet explorer, 6.1 SP1. The list is crazy long. Then do the same search for Mozilla, Firefox, all versions. Granted, more people are probably digging into IE, but the bug list, ouch. It's really quite interesting.

  8. Comment - Netscape Confirms 7.2 Release Date

    4.6 (Jul 28, 2004 - 7:00 PM)

Ok, Netscape, why? Firefox is the answer! But it's not Netscape, it's what you need to be using. As for Opera, I won't pay for a browser and I don't want adware on my browser, it's bad enough that it infests most web pages. The only problems I encounter with Firefox are IE components used on sites, like some forum toolbars as an example. Other than that, I absolutely love using Firefox.

  9. Comment - Comcast Revs Up High Speed Internet

    4.6 (Jul 28, 2004 - 6:56 PM)

I pulled this from the comcast page, just to clarify -- "Do you like your Internet super fast, or superduper fast? Choose between standard 3Mbps/256Kbps or, for $10 more a month, 4Mbps/384Kbps." -- and it's potato, not potatoe as was made famous by a certain former vice president.
