  1. Review - Process Lasso (x64)

    3.36.1 (Jan 2, 2009)

Running on both x86 and x64 systems. It definitely helps keep a system more responsive, even during malware scans. I've only had one app go south and start spooling the CPU since install and Process Lasso got it. Glad to have it on my side.

  2. Review - Process Lasso (x32)

    3.36.1 (Jan 2, 2009)

    @NotSoSkilledUser:
If you haven't tried it already: uninstall your version and cleanly install the version linked here (don't upgrade/crossgrade). The current free version shows the words "Free Build" in the lower left of the performance graph. Hope that helps.

  3. Comment - Is there any sense to Microsoft's 800 layoffs?

    3.36.1 (Nov 5, 2009 - 1:22 PM)

@bousozoku: Granted, it was more of a symbolic gesture. I was trying to subtly take advantage of that symbolism in my response and I guess I failed :\

If MS folds who will bail out Apple the *next* time they're about to go under?

  5. Comment - Betanews contest: Re-doing Bing, or, 'Name That Search Engine'

    3.36.1 (May 29, 2009 - 2:19 PM)

First thing that comes to mind:

Why search when you can find?
    Microsoft Find.com - It's really THAT easy.

Another idea could 'press' the "Start" concept (possibly even as a replacement for 'Live')...

When you need answers, START at the beginning.
Microsoft START.com - the place where it all starts.

  6. Comment - Retailers face new hurdles in their exodus to the Internet

    3.36.1 (May 18, 2009 - 10:39 AM)

"No company yet has gone from being a wholly brick-and-mortar shop to a wholly virtual one and had numbers to back it up."

Hasn't NewEgg done this very thing? They used to be EggHead Software (brick-and-motor) and turned themselves around by going entirely online. Following the link embedded in "numbers to back it up" shows NewEgg at #9 with $2.1B v. BestBuy at #10 with $2.0B. Unless NewEgg/EggHead still has some brick-and-mortar stores I'd offer that they may well have pioneered the idea of restructuring from physical to virtual.

Please correct me if I am mistaken.
