Pffpht to all the people who give this a 1 star. This is a 5+star program, I dumped Winamp3 and installed this GREAT program. Kudos to programmers who try to keep software size and resource usage down to a minimum.

  4. Review - SX#1-Supercross

    1.0 (Mar 18, 2003)

Not Bad. Not Great, but again not bad. The graphics are ok, sounds ok, crashes need more work... I mean if I am gonna crash going 50 mph, I want to see some limbs flailing, body parts bleeding...etc.. It kept me amused for about 30 minutes... mostly to see if I could do flips in mid air, run over downed bikers, see how far the bike would flip after a crash, see how far I would skid after a crash, etc etc etc...

  5. Review - Wasabi

    3.0 Build #488d (Mar 4, 2003)

Well, on the good side, it does play all sorts of video types (if you have the correct codex's allready installed)
On the bad side, it does take a while for it to load (2.81 takes abot 2 sec, 3 takes about 10 sec, and this is on a 700 mhz 512 mb ram machine).

I would like to see it bundeled with the latest codex bundles (DIVX included).

    For MP3 Playing, I use 2.81. For videos I use winamp3.

Also one more thing is the overhead. Why is it that winamp3 takes up much more overhead in system memory ?
Just because pc systems are getting faster and bigger gobs of memory doesn't mean you get sloppy with your coding...

    Ah well.. I use wa3 over wmp9 anyday :)

really, I mean come on. I love doom and all, but for me to upgrade means major scrimping and saving on my part.

  8. Comment - Real Launches Movie Download Service

    3.0 Build #488d (Jun 16, 2004 - 3:55 PM)

If it was any service other than Real, I would love it. Personally, I can not stand real player. Maybe it is just me, but it acts like spywear whenever I have installed it in the past.

I do like the idea of getting movies and watching them. I have a couple of concerns though.

    (1) How will the quality of the movies be ? Are we talking about DVD/DIVX quality ? (If I pump the video to my Plasma TV, will it look great ?)
    (2) How soon before someone write a hack so you can save them to DVD ?
    (3) What type of movies are we talking about here ? Attack of the 50ft woman ? Ishtar ? Waterworld ? Or will we get just out of the movie theater films...

  9. Comment - RIAA Targets Over 500 Additional Music Swappers

    3.0 Build #488d (May 28, 2004 - 1:48 PM)

Ok, avarage cd is like what, 15-20 dollars US? And each CD is about 12-15 songs.

So my question to you is this: If there was a service that has access to the music of the world, would you subscribe to it ?

Now I am probably going to get bashed and flamed for this but here it goes.

Anyone over the age of 30 will probably say yes. Anyone under the age of 30 will probably say no.

    Why ?

    Maturity. Pure and simple.

You know in your heart of hearts, that file sharing is not really right. It is stealing. Everyone knows that stealing is wrong. If stealing wasn't wrong, then you could go to your local Wal-Mart and take anything you want from the store, without paying for it, and not be punished.

Go to Wal-Mart today and try it. You will be arrested and tossed into jail.

    Why ?

    CAUSE STEALING IS WRONG !!!!!!!

The music is copyrighted. (like software ! and movies ! and books !) Someone owns it. If you want it, you have to PAY for it.

    Pure and simple.
    Period.
    End of discussion.

  10. Comment - RIAA Targets Over 500 Additional Music Swappers

    3.0 Build #488d (May 28, 2004 - 1:22 PM)

Yep, I completely argee with the above posts.

    Consider this:

    Picture it: somewhere in America.

You have a nice PC, sitting near your window in your house. I walk by and see said nice PC, and notice that the front door is open and no one is home.

I go into your house, and take PC. Why, cause to me, it's FREE !

So please, anyone who complains about music and file sharing, etc, etc. Do us all a favor. Leave your house unlocked, your car keys in the ignition of your car, your ATM and credit cards out with the proper security codes for them. And then tell everyone about.

Yep, losing stuff that belongs to you get pretty old fast.

Grow up, nothing is free in life. EVERYTHING comes with a price.
