Great program for being 0.10. Very educational for kids and adults alike. Program functions as advertised. Star database with 600,000 stars included but can be expanded to 210 million stars (see website). Keep up the great work!
0.4.0.3 Build 43 Alpha (Jan 1, 2006)
Designed to function with a minimum of system resources, this is the best IM I know of. The program is very simple in it's default form, but has been programmed to be expanded and customized to fit your needs. There are thousands of addons which you can download from the Miranda web site add the functions that *You* want. If you take the time to learn the program you will not regret it. Great program, very active support community, and definitely worth 5 stars IMHO. I've been using it for years and am very happy with it :-)

After testing various codec packs a few years ago, I found this one to be the most complete, and system friendly. Has all the codecs I need and more. 5 stars for a the best codec pack.

This is slightly off topic, but I felt I should mention this to anyone thinking of upgrading to Omega drivers. I've been using the Omega modified drivers for the ATI 9200 and the 9800 pro with good results/improvements. However this changed with version 5.7 and the ATI X700 mobile card. I had a lot of problems, and the driver mods from Omega slowed my system down. After weeks of tweaking and re-installing, I eventually gave up on the Omega mods and returned to the ATI Catalyst 5.7 drivers. I know Omega usually does a great job, but it didn't work for me with the following configuration:
Acer Travelmate 8104
Pentium Mobility 2.0 GHz "Sonoma"
1GB DDR2 RAM
ATI Mobility X700 - 128 MB
HD 80GB - seagate
1.2.0.48 (Apr 20, 2005)
Impressive sound quality and very useful for calling around the world. I didn't give it a 5/5 only because of occasional connection problems and slow file transfers. In some cases I've had as much as a 30 second delay between speaking and the other party hearing what was spoken. A reconnect usually rectifies this problem.
Overall a great product, but needs some work. When it functions properly, WOW.. Much better than any telephone in terms of voice quality. The conference calling feature is awesome! I've successfully spoken with 5 family members, two of which were on 56k modems with excellent results.
Highly recommended in spite of a few small problems.

I've been maintaining a small office that has been utilizing Open Office for about 2 years now. It has proven to be a very good alternative to MS products. I would recommend it to anyone interested in a very good office suite that delivers solid performance. It is not perfect, but very reliable.
