  1. Comment - Adobe opens beta of Web-based Photoshop

    (Mar 28, 2008 - 2:40 AM)

This is cool sure. But it's not Photoshop it's not even Elements. They are just using a strong brand to try to create interest but it's not much more than Picnik with some cool client-side tricks in Flex for manipulation. It could certainly go somewhere but I wish they wouldn't market it as a "Photoshop for the people" because it's simply not the case.

  2. Comment - Apple unveils 'world's thinnest notebook'

    (Jan 15, 2008 - 11:08 PM)

I wonder if the Apple fanatics feel insulted that this whole "Mounting a drive over the network" is touted as a revolutionary feature? This has been available since well... Windows for Workgroups and probably Macs for ages as well. Why does Apple take all the credit for re-introducing already existing features - ones that I *hope* even existed on Macs previous. Not just PCs. And if it didn't exist on Macs before then they are just introducing the feature VERY late in the game.

I think I'm going to install Halo now over my network from a "remote optical drive" magically.

  3. Comment - Microsoft Withdraws Private Folder App

    (Jul 15, 2006 - 2:51 AM)

My god. This is the most dumb thing I've ever heard. You can easily create a new account on Windows XP (if given the rights) and then set any folder to "enrypt" which is unreadable unless you are logged into that account. This application may (likely) even use that same encryption. It's available to the user just as much as installing this application is... if the admin wants he can block both of those rights (installing and creating new accounts). Microsoft is ridiculous for pulling this from the shelves... they should not cow tow to people who ho-hum about things when MS very well knows its a stupid claim. I'm saddened that they would do this - dont be a wimp MS!

  4. Comment - 8 Critical Flaws Patched by Microsoft

    (Jun 14, 2006 - 2:49 AM)

I wonder why it is that everytime a critical patch surfaces it warrents so much criticism? I'm sure Linux has its share of patches as well... is it not a good thing that MS recognizes, tests and creates a solution to these issues? Everytime I hear there is a new critical patch I'm happy to get it. I have an opposite reaction to what most here have I guess.

  5. Comment - Microsoft Launches Academic Search

    (Apr 12, 2006 - 12:36 PM)

Why does Microsoft feel the need to emulate every Google feature to the dime? I'm not a big critic of Microsoft (unlike many)... but I'm getting a little tired of this non-innovation. Are they "stuck"?
