...and work with suppliers -- leveraging the company's sheer size, as other behemoths such as Wal-Mart do...
This might be good for Best Buy and Wal-mart, but this is part of the reason
why the economy is in the shape it's in. Wal-Mart bully's vendors into lowering their prices, which means they are forced to cut corners, increase efficiency, and also cut into their own profits, in order to make them happy, so they will keep buying from them.
What this does is cause these vendors to cut workers, and possibly even close plants, if they keep losing money, or can't compete with factories overseas. This also runs Wal-Marts competition out of business...which means more job losses.
There is an upside to this. Operating at higher efficiency is better for the environment overall, but Wal-Mart is more interested in higher sales, higher profit, and controlling the market, than helping the environment. I think the Negatives outweigh the positives here.

This kinda reminds me of how law enforcement agencies are always talking about how they want a peaceful, crime-free society...while that would be great and all, they would also be out of a job. Symantec makes money from Windows insecurities, if Windows is secure, they don't make money.

Not all movies are $9.99, Some go for $19.99. I would rather go out and get an original copy, with a DVD case and artwork for basically the same price, or even less, than download from there. Unless they lower their prices, this is about pointless...your're just putting more money into the movie studios pocket.

I use Skype and Teamspeak mostly, and they sound just as good, if not better than a regular phone, as long as both users have a good, high-speed connection and properly set-up software and microphone. The problem arises when you try to talk to someone on dial-up, or they have a cheap and/or improperly set-up mic...that's where you get most of the echoing and delays.
