  1. Review - AntiVir Personal Edition for Windows

    9.0.0.386 (Apr 18, 2009)

    Quality German programming!

I've used this anti-virus application for years and I'm still incredibly impressed! The detection rates are just unparalleled:

With some additional custom settings, malicious software will have a hard time infecting your PC system. I've also used AVG, Avast and NOD32, but this application is still my first choice by far. Version 9 has some extreme on-demand scanning performance improvements for users with a multi core CPU. A company offering a freeware version of their flagship application like this, inspires genuine trust and respect!

  2. Review - Advanced SystemCare Free

    3.2.0 (Apr 18, 2009)

    Works great for me!

I really like this PC optimizing application. An experienced PC user will have no problems. The registry cleaning utility works great, the free RAM utility works great and all the other features, except for the start-up entry utility, which is very buggy on Vista 64-bit. Not enough to give a minus to a freeware application.

    Two thumbs up!

  3. Review - O&O Defrag Professional

    11.5.4065 (Apr 18, 2009)

The best defragmentation application I've used!

I've used this application for a few years now, while checking out other defrag apps at the same time, but none of them works as good as this one. I've tried PerfectDisk, Iobit Smart Defrag and Auslogics Disk Defrag, but the performance gain is always higher with O&O Defrag Pro. Quality German programming. (To any paranoid fileforum users: no I'm not affiliated at all to the O&O software company, nor am I paid by O&O to give this review.)

    Well done, developers. full score!

  4. Review - Ubuntu

    9.04 (Jaunty Jackalope) RC (Apr 18, 2009)

    Unbelievable!

Version 9.04 of Ubuntu is an extraordinary achievement! The speed improvements are extreme and the new notification system is perfect! I've been using the development version for about two weeks now and I've had no problems. Because of the updated kernel, Ubuntu now supports the ext4 file system, which among other things provides better performance, and I've had no problems with it so far.

    Pure excellence, full score!

  5. Review - Ubuntu

    8.10 (Intrepid Ibex) (Nov 20, 2008)

    (8.10 64-bit)

    I love it!

This release fixed every problem I had in version 8.04! Awaiting better 64-bit Flash and Java support. Adobe is coming along with the newly released 64-bit flash beta, but Sun is lagging behind.
