  1. Comment - DISH to Sell Portable Media Centers

    (Oct 11, 2005 - 1:47 PM)

LOL "jedite" you rread my mind. i was going to post the same thing.

Anyone know if they have filed a suit yet??? ;)-

I do not understand why the RIAA flips out over the music world, you do not see MGM, SONY, PIXAR etc..... sue vcr companies, dvr companies, tivo, echorstar for making it possible to record there shows for playback.

Just shows how much GREED the RIAA has, i mean come on they are sueing a 14yr girl, and treating her like she is a expert pirate making money off her downloads.

I understand yes it is illegal to download songs you do now own or have paid money for, but i think RIAA goes over the edge of reason sometimes.

Microsoft new ie7 has alot of shortcuts and gui interfaces like 3rd party browsers. microsoft has started incorprating alot of functionality, other 3rd party companies have done for a while.

  5. Comment - iTunes and the 99 Cent Question

    (Oct 7, 2005 - 4:13 PM)

I think 99 cents is all i will pay for a song. at this point either if i buy the CD or the indivual songs either way i am getting screwed.

I think the price should be equal a little more. example avg cd cost 18.00 and there are on an avg 25 songs on cds price per song is 72 cents.

i guess the 30 + cent markup is to cover providers server and bandwith.

my prob is that if i buy the cd i can copy trhe songs off i like and due the same with others and make a singal good cd. but if i download load it, then the DMR kick in, i have all kinds of limits from what it can be played on to how many times it can be burned to a cd. NOT FAIR if i pay the 1 for the song, i should be able to do with it what i wish for personal
    enjoyment.

sorry small off topic rant ;)-

i agree with the article in i think higher prices would stall the market and possibly even raise piracy over time.
