1.4.0.51 Beta (Sep 6, 2005)
I like the "newer" interface. With Gizmo, Skype, Yahoo! Messenger (yes its pretty good) and others... its hard to find one with all of the features you want. It would be great as always to have them all get together and combine.
Overall, skype is fantastic and they do great work. As far as spyware and adware and such... Skype is like one of the big ones that is totally known for NOT having spyware or anything. Like they are one of the big time leaders against spyware and such. So no worries there.
1.0 Beta 1 (Jul 1, 2004)
Excellent Program! Does exactly what it said it would do. I really like the thumbnail preview of the site. I gave this five stars because it perform all tasks it stated correctly. Though I would like to see possibly integration into Mozilla Firefox because i do not use Internet Explorer. I was also dissapointed that it did not work with MSN Premium. Maybe in the future we might see a Firefox extension that does this. Til then keep up the great work... what a great idea this is!!!
1.0 Beta 1 (Jan 20, 2006 - 4:25 AM)
Yeah... not sure where you live, but $35 is a fantastic price. Chicago area easily pays twice that much. I'm sure Verizon won't have a piddly 400Kbps upload speed either like the cable companies.
1.0 Beta 1 (Jan 20, 2006 - 4:23 AM)
Your internal network speed of wired computers is 100Mbps. That means that from your computer to the router its 100Mbps. All data coming from out side you house can't exceed 768Kbps or whatever you have for DSL. Upload speeds are prolly 1/4th of your download.
So your data gets from your router to your computer really really fast... lol. But that makes no differnce because your outside internet connection is nowhere near that fast.
This is sad too because cable providers could theoretically have 30Mbps or much more to give you. Its just a marketing thing. Its like releasing processors. Everyone only gives you a little more at a time. Just enough to satisfy you more than what you had. I think Comcast is at 6Mbps down now... tho I'd take 2Mbps down if I could get 2Mbps up.
1.0 Beta 1 (May 14, 2005 - 3:37 AM)
I read the whole article and really I have only one thing to say due to the fact that the article really doesn't "say" anything.
It was an interesting read yes, but not a whole lot of information was obtained. Though, I'm not sure how much more info "could" be obtained on the subject... either way, thank you BN for doing the interview.
Now, the one thing I have to sasy is that a CPU is a processor inside the case. The Product Key sticker is on the side of the case/tower/computer/computer enclosure... not the CPU. That just really gets to me.
1.0 Beta 1 (May 10, 2005 - 2:42 PM)
For the amount of talk that BN initiated about Apple I really think that Mr. Bill Pence did an excellent job answering.
After all, he is the CTO of Napster and not Apple. A lot of the Apple related questions could only be anwered with speculation.
This was a really enjoyable read, though i would have liked to see more actually about Napster. It was interesting to see comparitively questions regarding Rhapsody and I think that Napster has a lot more in common with Rhapsody then they do with Apple.
As my personal opinion I think Rhapsody does a good job, but I agree with it becoming more cluttered. Ease of use still is a problem with both offerings and neither has a reliable or easy to use music library feature (I still use musicmatch).
Overall, I think that Napster is heading in the right direction with device interoperability. The iPod will not help them reach this goal because the devices they need to be on are TVs, cell phones, etc.
Accessing your content from wherever you are using any device is really where we all should be moving toward.
1.0 Beta 1 (Apr 30, 2005 - 9:10 PM)
List of features that Firefox has and IE doesnt't... features that I use every day only. Here is a list of 10 in no particular order.
1. Mouse Gestures
2. Tabbed Browsing
3. Download Manager (great implementation of it)
4. Bookmarks Toolbar (yes its different from the links toolbar)
5. RSS LiveBookmarks
6. Google "I'm feeling lucky" from the address bar
7. Search in page toolbar
8. ForcastFox
9. Keyword in address bar (wiki, dict, etc)
10. Define word (from flyout menu)
Also, please stop saying "Explorer" when you really mean "Internet Explorer." They are NOT the same thing. Some of you may not know this, so here is a heads up.
