THis is a step in the right direction for MS for their OS, it still has a long way to go to get everything spybot and ad aware get.
But in saying that, spybot does not find all the items ad aware finds, and on a few occasions defender has found a few items neither had.

Great collection of codecs, only one you need

    1.0 (Nov 3, 2006)

I like it a lot, i have tried a lot of mods for a darker toolbar, now i have one, the orange start bar is a little annoying, but you over come that pretty quick

Not the greatest all in one spyware protection / removal program, it does get some things that others dont and vis versa.
Still something that is good to have tho as it does inform you when settings are being changed without your consent or knowledge.

  5. Review - foobar2000

    0.9 Beta 14 (Feb 14, 2006)

    Great program fullstop for music.
Never really got into winamp or others, but this is great, clean and uncluttered.

  6. Comment - Microsoft claims a consumer 'shift' to 64-bit Vista, but where are the drivers?

    0.9 Beta 14 (Aug 1, 2008 - 8:01 PM)

I went for Vista X64 from the word go, only had a few small issues with getting some programs to work correctly, but after some searching i found freeware programs to make up the slack.
Drivers have been good from the word go, although the nvidia drivers are always iffy, but work ok.
No bsod's or such unlike XP X64, highly recomend to go for Vista X64 if you have the horsepower to run vista.

  7. Comment - Internet Explorer 8 shipping this year, Windows 7 still on track

    0.9 Beta 14 (Jul 24, 2008 - 8:43 PM)

If you look at nearly all console games are designed for kids and or arcade type experiances, 90% of PC gamers i would say have moved from Commodore computers etc and as such have matured with the gaming experiance a pc offers.

I have never tried wine, but you would have to take a hit on perforance when running a windows converter inside linux?

In the end, the debate will always rage regardless, enjoy your perferance!

  8. Comment - Gartner analyst: HD DVD has until the end of 2008

    0.9 Beta 14 (Jan 28, 2008 - 11:39 PM)

Early adopters take that risk full stop.
There is a risk in any new technology such as formats etc.
People will have a differant view regardless of others, I on the other hand will not buy either untill there is a set standard.
While some movies will take advantage of the HD, there are still a lot of movies that will never use it.
And apart from a few movies in my collection, i would never buy BD or HD discs on 99% of the dvds i own atm.

  9. Comment - Blu-ray: Early adopters knew what they were getting into

    0.9 Beta 14 (Jan 9, 2008 - 12:04 AM)

The one reason to save your money and wait and wait till a standard is reached.

  10. Comment - Album music sales drop, singles in renaissance

    0.9 Beta 14 (Jan 4, 2008 - 8:53 PM)

Record companies are too rerarted to think that people dont always want the top 40 crap they peddle.
Here in australia i have had to import 70% of my music, lucky for me my music store to which i have been going to for 20 years now is more than willing to do this for me, but he tells me all the time, he sells more country, rock, metal etc than top 40 rubbish.
