Every companys goal is gain more market share, and your trashing them for that.
I like triton. I'll be able to share photos and files while talking to various friends in an organized fashion. No longer will I have to have yahoo for video conferencing, hello/picasa for photo sharing, AIM for files and chat.
BTW, I'm no newbie.

Don't get me wrong, I like my Mac, but Mac makes you buy their hardware with their software. Isn't this worse than what Microsoft is doing? All PCs at least allow you to install something else, but with a Mac, you're just screwed. Give it around 2-3 years and the class-action suits will start with Apple, and then you'll see Apple's already extremely high prices get even higher.
I bet if Microsoft didn't have to pay greedy people and governments settlements because they are "the big bad boy" company, the prices would be extremely cheaper.
I'm for free software. I love it. I read in the news all the time how everyone things software should be free and all that stuff. Why is everyone still mad that microsoft released a pretty good product for free? It put a company out of business, but I'm sure the popularity of Mambo/Joomla has put a few CMS-developing companies out of business as well.
Oh well. Everyone will still keep fighting about this, but thats all I have to say.

Our accounting department tried the switch to OO.o. I don't believe I've ever heard so much complaining before in my life on how everything was different and "why in the world are we switching again to this...it sucks?". We eventually had to switch bad to Office.
I use OO.o at home, Office at work. I prefer Office, but I could use OO.o if I had to. But, I'm just pointing out that when the dude says they'll be a lot of disgruntled employees that refuse to learn it/switch, he's most likely correct.

Hearing about CSS2 compliance and security improvements would be great, IF this was a press release about that stuff. Look back a couple of weeks to those releases and you'll find plenty of information.

I don't know why people diss MS so much. I've been running XP pro on my computer, and I haven't had to do a ctrl-alt-del since I installed it. I love my friends Zen touch (and if i didn't have sirius in my car I'd have one).
Microsoft gives me the ability to choose my own hardware, build my own systems, and make them as crappy/great as I want. Apple doesn't give you choices...your stuck with what they think you should have.
You can diss Microsoft all you want, but I love the products they release because they've always worked for me, and worked well. I had my Apple days, and I spent more time behind the computer unplugging the thing than I did in front of the screen (which reminds me, I was at CompUSA today and was messing around with a nice new mac and the thing locked up and a service dude had to come get the thing back online.)
Good luck with the new media players...I'm looking forward to seeing them.
