Instead of thinking of buying Novell, why don't they just come right out and make an offer for Redhat? Surely at what Oracle charges for licensing they can afford it? I just hope that any error messages generated in their version of Linux aren't preceded by an 'ORA' prefix. I shiver when I see them in Oracle products as it is, would have to shoot any Linux-based servers they sell that display those.
It would be very interesting to see what Microsoft and IBM would do, if Oracle does offer their own OS, though Oracle would also have to write/buy a collaboration environment like Notes or Exchange to REALLY get at either of them :)

Not so strange...Microsoft knows that Mac Office 2004 is very popular with Mac users and is one of the best selling Mac software titles. This contest is not about Windows vs. OS X, even though both now run on Intel CPUs, but is more likely an attempt to let Mac users know that Microsoft is going to release a UniBin version of Office.

Yes, IE7 Beta 2 has problems, though I have had no issue with MSN Messenger and the viewing of most common websites, it DOES have its' fair share of problems: UPS.com renders blank pages, the UI is not as intuitive and page loads seem to be slower than what I had expected. However, those asking for uninstall directions are just begging for trouble.
Any Beta software release (Microsoft or otherwise) should be tested on a non-production, non-critical and non-personal machine. If you don't have access to a second machine, install your OS of choice on a different drive or second partition and/or get a copy of Virtual PC or VMware and test it inside of that environment, AFTER performing a snapshot or a backup of a clean Windows OS environment.
Or am I missing the point entirely :)
