Beta (Jan 11, 2009)
Installed it today. So far it's running fine, although a bit sluggish here and there but who can complain it's a Beta. I like the new interface, although very Vista-ish.
8.0.101a1327 (Jun 25, 2008)
AVG went from awesome free AV software, to a good one and to a bad one. This new version chews up nearly 85MB RAM (average) with all the processes combined. It's ok when you have 2GB of RAM on your PC and surfing Facebook, email, chat. But, while gaming or encoding videos that's not acceptable.
But, WORST is that you can't just kill the processes anymore through Task Manager like the previous versions. And EVEN WORST is that you can not kill the Services either! The darn thing is unstoppable!...unless you uninstall it like I did. I am very disappointed with AVG 8.
7.0 (Apr 30, 2008)
Installed it. Feature-wise there isn’t much new features added compare to its Windows counterpart. And the download/upload transfer speed is still disastrous again compared to its Windows cousin.
4.0 Preview (Mar 28, 2008)
Is this a joke or what. Vista already has Windows Search built-in. So this version 4 is an update I guess? I hate Vista. I hate Microsoft.
3.0.0.1 (Nov 4, 2009 - 7:25 PM)
It was pointless from the start...but you had to come up with smarty questions then all hell broken loose!! :-p
3.0.0.1 (Nov 4, 2009 - 2:47 PM)
@ PC_Tool: When *you* call Mac users "Mactards" do you really mean that everyone using a Mac is a retard??! I'm assuming no and it probably mean you just prefer Windows, right? Well same for me - I prefer anything else but IE.
3.0.0.1 (Nov 3, 2009 - 8:26 PM)
@PC_Tool. Geeez dude will you relax! It's for suckers, meaning if sucks compare to the competition shown in the chart.
3.0.0.1 (Nov 3, 2009 - 1:40 PM)
IE8 is for suckers
3.0.0.1 (Oct 30, 2009 - 8:23 PM)
Yeah but I don't think Gartner expected that Vista was going to be a failure back then. Their predictions can now be applied to Windows 7 ;)
